Comments: I have spent many afternoons with my kids, at Fashion Island riding the carousel, playing in the fountain, and dining and shopping at the stores. To be honest, a carousel ride is the only way I can convince my kids to go there so I can get a bit of shopping in. It is a shame that you are planning on getting rid of something so many people enjoy.

Comments: Fashion Island is a mainstay for local families. It gives us moms something to do with our little ones during the week and a lovely family outing on the weekend. I love the Italian Palazzo theme, but please keep some family friendly items. My daughter begs me to visit the Carousel, and we have huge discussions on which animal she will ride. It really is a treasure.

Comments: Moms support the OC economy and they spend a lot of time at Fashion Island doing it. Our kids get so much joy from it--we would start driving to South Coast for that reason alone.

Comments: I have been married for 2 years. My wife and I had our first Daughter Sofia in June of 08. My office is located accross the street from the airport in the McArhtur Court Buildings (Irvine Company also owns). On a weekly basis I take a half day to meet my wife and daughter at Fashion Island to do some shopping, eat luch, and RIDE THE CAROUSEL as my daughter loves it! It would be a shame if you took the family aspect out of that mall. It would force us to go to South Coast Plaza for our weekly shopping and lunches as Sofia always expects and wants the carousel. I think a lot of families feel this way and if you took out the carousel you may loose significant tenant sales which may not affect you (THE IRINVE COMPANY) directly but your tenants (the stores we shop at weekly) will loose business. This could result in your tenants financial downfall. Understand the comercial real estate market is in the dumps. Occupancy even in grade A commercial properties is suffering. Help your tenants attract and keep shoppers by leaving a family aspect to your property.

Comments: Why does it seem like The Irvine Company is always the bad guy Every time I go to one of their centers, I see another small business that has not been able to make it with the steep overhead...
