| 55 | Debbie Wilson | I feel its another nail in the coffin for the crofting industry. |
| 56 | William Fraser | As well as retaining the bull hire scheme, i would like to see the reintroduction of the ram hire scheme. I think this would help to stop the mass exodus of stock of our hills and glens. |
| 57 | roy peacock | bring back the tup hire scheme too. |

| 70 | Pete Brown | The economic, social & cultural benefits of thriving rural enterprises are enormous. Anything that will help provide a sustainable rural community is to be supported. |

| 74 | A McLeod | Why take away something that is a very important part of the crofting community? We should be encouraging people who live off the land and look after it for us. In this age of uncertainty we should be encouraging crofters and farmers to teach us how to feed ourselves not hindering those who are invaluable to our country and to our future! |

| 78 | iain keith | Livestock numbers are falling rapidly and this will only help to speed up the the decline in stock numbers in the crofting counties. |

| 80 | Brian Pack | At the very least an alternative way of allowing small producers in remote areas access to good genetics must be found. |
| 81 | D.W.MACDONALD | Essential to future of crofting |
| 82 | John Smith | The scheme is an integral part of crofting support and complements certain SRDP options and Health initiatives. Its demise will have a negative economic and environment effect on crofting. |
| 83 | D Macleod | The bull hire scheme is the conerstone of cattle rearing in the Islands. Crofters do not have the infrastructure or resources to purchase and manage bulls on very small units. There is no private sector alternative and AI is ineffective in terms of the island cattle rearing structure. Loss of the hire scheme will lead to a massive reduction in the herd size. The importance of maintaining and growing the herd size at the periphery is of equal importance in terms of economic regeneration and biodiversity. Ministerial statements on the importace of maintaining a crofting presence in the hills and islands seem hollow in the face of the body blow that ends the bull hire scheme. |
| 84 | Colin N Kennedy | Save The Bull Scheme !!!! Hand every person under the banner "Crofters Commission" the P45.
In every township where the Bulls have been ,evidence of them having been working is on the ground in the form of calves , which help Crofters survive with proceeds from sales vital .
No evidence can be noted on the ground of those under the Commission banner, beyond destruction, devistation, failure, obstruction and refusal to support Crofters, to quote but some of the failings of the Crofters Commission.
I guess retaining any bull which does not serve cows ,is like retaining the Commission. |
| 85 | Donnie Mackay | the decision to end the bull hire scheme is a piece of petty bureaucratic meddling nonesense - bizzare decision |

| 94 | Andy Dick | I believe the demise of this scheme will result in a big reduction in cattle in the Western Isles adversely affecting the environment and that once lost it will be virtually impossible to return to the numbers currently held. |
| 95 | Gerard MacDonald | It is important this scheme is saved. |
| 96 | Durrant H Macleod | The posssible removal of the Bull Hire Scheme would be detremental to Crofters in the Highlands |
| 97 | sara Banting | I have a total of 2 cows and was able to join in a bull hire scheme locally which enabled me to put my cows to a bull. If it had not been for the bull scheme I would not have been able to afford to put my 2 cows into calf, does anyone care about crofting in the Highlands? |
| 98 | Barry Shelby | The bull hire scheme is essential for the future of crofting in Scotland. |
| 99 | Ewen Mackinnon | Why do away with a scheme which has served crofters well ? Every effort must be made to retain this scheme !
I would also like to see the return of the tup purchase and/or hire scheme. |
| 100 | William Neilson | A full reveiw of services should be undertaken |
