This developer should be told NO!- the city & county should stand up for great architecture and stop this egregious land-grab, for another banal lifestyle center!!Flag

Name: Lauren Westmoreland on Feb 13, 2008Comments: As a former Georgia Tech student, I know from experience the lack of inspiring architecture in Atlanta. As a student, it's important to have these types of buildings to see in our daily context. On a larger note, we need more buildings that push the envelope. They create interesting discourse as well as stop and make people think. It would be a shame to lose a building like this, especially in a place like Atlanta where more distinction is needed from the typical cities!Flag

Name: Amelia Mendez on Feb 13, 2008Comments: This is a rather beautiful architectural piece. Destroying it would not only set atlanta back in terms of urban design but also would be a spit in the face of the whole field of architecture. Tearing it down would be destructive, disrespectful, tacky, and wasteful. Please educate yourself. Please don't be so close minded and ignorant.Flag

Name: Anonymous on Feb 13, 2008Comments: The buckhead library is a unique and culturally important building in Atlanta. Much of Atlanta is covered in new construction; consequently, the city is hard to imagine as a place that is any different than another place. Part of place-making comes through having buildings from a variety of eras and of a variety of scales. The Buckhead library is a building that is visually interesting, didactic, built of quality materials, and is a good example of a building that is reacting to current architectural discouse. That is to say, the building is an important cultural landmark.Flag
