Comments: I visited this library when I was in college and was awed by its strength of design and I'm proud that it is a public building that is rooted in it's environment and deserves a world more consideration than a developer driven "box" whose only purpose is to waste energy and hock cheap wares nobody needs.

Comments: Yet another instance of 'throw-away' American culture, where buildings are thought of as akin to styrofoam containers for take-away, not structures of permanance. This developer should be told NO!- the city & county should stand up for great architecture and stop this egregious land-grab, for another banal lifestyle center!!

Comments: I still talk about this building to my students at the University of Pennsylvania where I am an associate professor. Atlanta is characterized by the most mediocre, bland, anonymous corporate architecture: Save a moment of difference.

Comments: Its hard enough to get great Architecture in Atlanta, why destroy that which we have. There are some things larger than private sector profits, lets learn to preserve great public works and buildings, as if we were an enlightened society.

Comments: As a former Georgia Tech student, I know from experience the lack of inspiring architecture in Atlanta. As a student, it's important to have these types of buildings to see in our daily context. On a larger note, we need more buildings that push the envelope. They create interesting discourse as well as stop and make people think. It would be a shame to lose a building like this, especially in a place like Atlanta where more distinction is needed from the typical cities!

Comments: I also live next door and love the view of the library. Anyone who knows architecture as the creation of a space rather than an opportunity to gross money would know that this structure is a piece of art which deserves to be seen.

Comments: This is so typical in Atlanta. The developers are rebuilding Buckhead to make it better, and part of that is they want to tear down the best piece of architecure in Buckhead. Save the Library at all costs.

Comments: This is a rather beautiful architectural piece. Destroying it would not only set atlanta back in terms of urban design but also would be a spit in the face of the whole field of architecture. Tearing it down would be destructive, disrespectful, tacky, and wasteful. Please educate yourself. Please don't be so close minded and ignorant.

Comments: The buckhead library is a unique and culturally important building in Atlanta. Much of Atlanta is covered in new construction; consequently, the city is hard to imagine as a place that is any different than another place. Part of place-making comes through having buildings from a variety of eras and of a variety of scales. The Buckhead library is a building that is visually interesting, didactic, built of quality materials, and is a good example of a building that is reacting to current architectural discouse. That is to say, the building is an important cultural landmark.
