Name: Peter Wilson on Mar 30, 2007Comments: As past studies have shown, simply erasing the brewery site simply doesn't work. Although there are obvious tensions between stakeholders to maximise profits in the event of introducing maximum density housing and commercial buildings to the site; the site carries a grain of city history that simply cannot be erased. The 'Blue Star' is a synbol of the city and of the people. York has it's Minster, London has its Tower Bridge. Newcastle has the Blue Star. The existing fabric of the site needs to be retained and modified to keep history upon the site and the city.Flag
