The BBC seems to be constantly recieving bad press recently for all manner of reasons. We all seem to have forgotton that the BBC has spent years cultivating an excellent international reputation for high quality, interesting and topical programming. It always has been, and remains, the primary broadcaster in the UK for high quality programmes. Isn't it time that the British public recognised the value of the BBC??
Pressure to reduce budgets and provide a broader spectrum of services has resulted in a noticeable decrease in the quality and quantity of new and interesting programmes commissioned and broadcast by the BBC over the last 18 months.
To maintain and improve this valuable British institution lets give them some good publicity, recognise and support the work they do and, if needs be, provide them with a reasonablely increased licence fee to continue producing great programmes that we can all be proud of.
