Save Thacher Park

NY Gov. David Patterson is threatening to close several historic parks around the state including Thatcher Park which has been a trademark of the Helderberg Mountains, Including Berne, Knox, Westerlo and many other surrounding towns. It overlooks the Captial Region and has been home to many, many field trips for kids. The park sits along the Helderberg Escarpment, one of the most fossil-rich formations in the world and the most dramatic natural feature of the regional landscape. Its a wonderful experience that the Gov. should see that closing it... will not be a smart thing to do!

5 years ago Comments: I grew up on New Salem Road at the bottom of the hill in Voorheesville. I moved into a house down the street and now live there with my 9 year old son and 2 dogs. Thacher Park is a huge part of our life and we want it to stay that way.
