Comments: John Gormley needs to be shown what a ludicrous idea it is to on one hand build a motorway through Tara, and on the other declare it a World Heritage site. UNESCO and ICOMOS need to step up!

Comments: The whole world is watching and praying for Tara Hill and complex. We do not want to lose any part of it. To compromise it now would lead to future deterioration. How unimaginable disgraceful to blot out the stars with road lights at such an astronomical site!

Comments: I am writing from Atlanta in the United States, where there is great interest in having the M3 re-routed to preserve the integrity of the Hill of Tara environment. Not least for tourism reasons, I urge you to please not declare Hill of Tara as a UNESCO site, until the M3 is re-routed.

Comments: Many years ago I attended the first paneuropean exhibition of Celtic culture at the Pallazzo Grazzi in Venice. At the time my ignorance caused some indignation on my part that 'celticism' was being appropriated by all but the irish till I reached the end of the show culminated by the most exquisite work from our own emerald isle, the crowning glory of all the show. Much of the work was produced in Tara underscoring the despicable, irreversible and myopic actions of the irish government in aiding in the destruction of a site of tantamount importance to the broader european cultural inheritance, the preservation of which is crucial to europes cultural and spiritual journey forward.

Comments: Tara is the most important site in Ireland, both archaeologically and historically. Tara is the heart of the Irish peoples and should never have been subjected to this disgraceful attack in the first place. The archaeological sites and artifacts that have been found, should be protected and left in situ for the Irish people and their descendants.. Honour your ancestors and their achievements, not concrete. (Yes, I do have Eireann blood)
