Name: Caitlin Mercer on Oct 4, 2007Comments: BMX is a healthy hobby for the youth of Simi Valley. The government has been stressing America's health issues for the past few years now, trying to prevent childhood obesity and promote more activities for children. Taking away a healthy and exciting sport would be hypocritical. SAVE SYCAMORE BMX!Flag

Name: Carollynn Kreutz on Oct 9, 2007Comments: I raced BMX as a child in the 80's. I have to admit; it not only RAISED my confidence in myself! Additionally, it kept me away from drugs and the "bad elements" of the 1980 decade. With temptations so rampant and available to youth of today, I urge you to encourage any wholesome sports - including those that KEEP children in a safe, competitive environment. Plus, the use of drugs, smoking and even steroids is frowned upon at the BMX track. These BMX racers care more about getting a cool looking bike [that's a worthwhile parental - financial contribution] and get better at racing and being best on the track! I've already made the commitment to not only BE at the track to watch my 4 children race - I ALSO RIDE ON THE TRACK WITH THEM, TOO! So please, whatever you can do to keep BMX a constant part of kids' lives is A+ in this voters book!Flag

Name: Glenn Noyes on Oct 9, 2007Comments: When I first moved to California in 1970, I was 8. I knew no one but was introduced to BMX by a neighbor. I raced BMX for 6 years and it became a big part of my life. It introduced me to new friends, it bonded my brother and I even closer and it kept us away from other activities that could have hurt us growing up. It is also an extremely healthy sport. I would highly recommend you keep this open with your supportFlag

Name: Brad Hallin on Oct 9, 2007Comments: As a Track Director for the American Bicycle Association, I can tell you that Anthony & Joan run a top-notch BMX program for the kids in that community - one of the best in the country. Closing this facility with relocation would be a travesty, especially with BMX finally becoming an Olympic sport in 2008. Please feel free to contact me if you have any questions about this BMX program.Flag
