I still enjoy the game & would allow my subscription to continue long past December 15 if I still had a game to log in to.Flag

Name: Bret Bottomley on Jun 26, 2011Comments: Don't necessarily make the game free to play, I don't mind playing. As a player for five years, I don't want to see it end. Considering the player base population has been steady AND SUPPORTIVE, don't be so quick to close it down just because another SW MMO is coming out. They are completely different games. There is too much to this game to just close it now. It could easily continue for another year or two.Flag

This game has been my escape to real life hardships. While my mom's health started to fail I turned to SWG. And now she has passed on June 12th. It has become a place to go for recovery. I have a lot of friends in the game that have been there to support me in a time of great need. Please do not shut the game down.Flag

Name: Matthijs Hollemans on Jun 26, 2011Comments: An MMO such as Star Wars Galaxies is much more than "just a game". Many people have a huge emotional investment in their characters and the world they've built together with other players. Stopping the game effectively takes this away from them, which is why a lot of players are upset that Sony/LucasArts would do this to "their game". The servers and intellectual property may belong to Sony and LucasArts, but the game world belongs to the players.Flag

TOR will not be the SWG2 nor will it appeal to those who still love the Starwars feel! I had no intentions of leaving SWG for TOR when it releases! I have been playing SWG since early '06! I have managed to own 7 accounts through this game and have always enjoyed it!Flag

Name: Carlinda Sanchez on Jun 26, 2011Comments: I'm very sad to see that SWG will be closed down. I've been playing this game for the last 3 years and Ive made a lot of great friends while doing so. I read the Smedley interview and all I really got from that is LA not wanting any competition for TOR. A lot of the SWG player base was already planing on playing the new MMO, as well as SWG and now feel like theyre being forced into a new game! Lucas Arts needs to realize that by refusing to renew their contract with SOE theyre showing us that they really dont care about what their customers want! LA needs to realize that their customer base is their revenue and right now a lot of us are pissed off! Honestly after all this why should we invest money and time into another LA game? SWG has the potential to be an even better game. Not everyone is going to like or identify with TOR and LA has the opportunity of having two really great Star Wars games on the market. My suggestion would be to temporarily close SWG down and revamp the game. Its 8 years old and could use a makeover! SWG players have been saying this for years! There are so many people that Ive played with that have a lot of great ideas for the game and would love to see them implemented! Just listen to what were saying! As much as Id love this game continue, I know from reading the Smedley interview that the chance of that actually happening is probably at zero! With that being said; the remainder of SWG should be free! Its pretty low that we be expected to pay for a game that no longer has a point! Nothing that we do or get in SWG matters anymore! Some of us have been paying our $15 a month for the last 8 years and many of us have multiple accounts....honestly, is that not enough money to partake in the end of the game? You wtfpwnd us by shutting down the game...and teabagged us by making us pay for the time we have left!Flag

Name: Paul Zook on Jun 26, 2011Comments: Please LucasArts, allow SOE the license agreement to continue so that we may keep our community and our home away from home. It is a unique environment. I'll be getting married soon to my already in game wife. And we have plans for friends from the game, even though they are from different places in the country to be present at our wedding. SWG is what keeps close and together. Don't take that away from us, please.Flag
