3502 John McKeonFreelanceLeave the Storyville budget alone, you tight fisted bastards - sack a few (lot) of the "useless suits" upstairs instead!
3503 Timothy PhillipsAuthor, Beslan: The Tragedy of School No.1I try never to miss new Storyvilles as they appear on BBC4. The mixture of serendipity and seriousness constantly stretches the mind, while the variety of different film-making techniques pleases the eye and the ear.

3512 Ken McGillFreelance FilmmakerThe BBC cannot be allowed to to marginalise Storyville. Simply have a few BBC executives forego their bonuses and Storyville's funding problems would be solved. But I want more than that I want Storyville's budget to be INCREASED.

3519 Federico M. CapulinoCAPULINOdocTV - Los AngelesBBC should preserve and enhance STORYVILLE’s resources—rather than reduce them—assuring its continued activities, providing the global documentary filmmaking industry with one of the best, if not the best, strand on any mayor broadcaster’s slate, and presenting to the global audiences the high quality and courageous stories that would otherwise never glow on any screen. BBC should not loose sight of the main reason why those three letters inspire the respect they do all over the world: quality, and compelling, courageous and balanced storytelling.

3537 Margaret FloodHead of PublicityI regard the Storyville series as one of the best documentary series I have viewed. Words such as genuine, original, sensitive, unusual and informative leap to my mind. I think it would be an extraordinary act of folly to reduce the budget for this series.
3538 Julia FloodThe British MuseumWe need MORE quality documentaries, not less. Please do not cut the storyville budget! Educate us
3539 Deborah BurtonGlobal Campaigner, Christian AidStoryville is a gold standard strand. It consistently delivers terrific films across an incredible range of subjects. The reputation of British documentary film-makers is second to none, the BBC is intergral to that, and so please explain to me why - when we are surrounded by lowest common denominator programming - the BBC, on my behalf as BBC Licence Payer - would axe Storyville's freedom to support British documentary film-makers? To save £1.2m? Not even the price of one city banker's bonus...such is the value the BBC places on fighting the 'price of everything, value of nothing' trend that has left us with more is less TV. Please do not axe its budget.
3540 Dmitry TolonenDirector...yet another nail in the coffin.
3541 Adjoa AndohActressThis is a fabulous strand of BBC programming! It provides diverse intelligent perspectives on the world we live in outside of the narrow band of broadcast news. I can't conceive of why the BBC would want to get rid of a strand it does so superbly in the great Reithian tradition of public service broadcasting. I want my kids to grow up informed and interested in the rest of the world . You are currently helping us. Please don't stop.
