| 3401 | taghreed Elsanhouri | independent film maker | platforms like storyville need to be strengthened not cut back - in my view format led factual programming can not match the integrity and 'truth' of vision and potential for creativity that emerges out of independent work. |

| 3408 | Philip Little | Director ATS | Storyville is the most exciting and enjoyable documentary series currently being screened. The format of telling a story whilst informing and educating is unique. The program on Arthur Kane and the one on missing Japanese children in North Korea are 2 that stand out, they both make the viewer watch to find out what has happened. Ditch some of the othe nonsense that the BBC churns out! |
| 3409 | Pamela Hunt | MD Raw Charm Limited (Retired) | I used to be proud to say that I had once worked for the BBC. But no more. It's so tied up in its own spin, that it has lost it's sense of purpose. |
| 3410 | Anonymous | Anonymous | Stop dumbing down! |
| 3411 | Tim Clements | Director | The BBC should actually be talking about investing more heavily in serious documentary filmmaking, most definitely in Storyville and also in other strands. Some of Britain's best film making and best film makers are are born out of the feature documentary and yet the BBC and other channels are obliterating it from our tv screens. This, despite the success of documentaries on the big screen and despite the worn and proven path that directors make from documentaries to fiction and back again. |
| 3412 | Dorothée Forma | documentary maker at Humanist Broadcasting Foundation in the Netherlands | It's a Europe-wide trend to diminish the amount of (international) creative documentaries. We all need support in the effort to reverse that trend.
Good luck Storyville! |
| 3413 | Fulvia D'Ottavi | Producer | |
| 3414 | Evenstar Kettering | Filmmaker | |
| 3415 | Margaret Drain | Vice President, WGBH, Boston, Massachusetts | Storyville is the only series on British television which showcases the work of highly creative documentary filmmakers from around the world. With a very small budget they have managed to produce and present films that have won every major film and television award. It would be pennywise and poundfoolish to make the proposed cuts in their budget. And would further damage the reputation of a once proud BBC. |

| 3425 | kendal kempsey | researcher/ camera op | please save Storyville, one of the last remaining voices for independent documentary. |
| 3426 | Anonymous | Anonymous | The best - and only truly international - documentary strand in the UK. To cut Storyville would be to cut UK audiences off from others' world view / perspectives ... and that would be tragic in the current climate. |
| 3427 | Violeta Ayala | United Notions Film | I am a big fun of storyville and the docs they fund!!! |

| 3430 | Michael Truckenbrodt | time prints OHG, producer | |
| 3431 | nathaniel jessel | freelance | as a young filmaker, Storyville is the light at the end of the tunnel. it needs to remain the beacon of documentary that it currently is. |
| 3432 | Vendemmiati Alberto | Filmmaker director | |
| 3433 | Rick Hughes | Writer Director, The Creative Writing Service | Would the last person who switches off BBC please ensure the plug is removed from the socket. |
| 3434 | Rick Minnich | writer/director | Please don't let this invaluable jewel in the international documentary scene die a long, slow death. Not only would British viewers be deprived of some of the best of world cinema, but many of these films would no longer get made in the first place without the help of Storyville. |

| 3436 | dave Young | pod Films ltd | come on, come on
we all need storyville for a better quality of life... |
| 3437 | Tom Flannery | Indivdual, Wannabe Filmmaker | Storyville is one of the last remaining pillars of quality programming. The idea that the BBC has decided to target this multi-award winning, inspirational series as a budget cut option is extremely worrying. It has been a massive part of my education in becoming a rounded human. Why is this happening? It's pathetic.
I have just bought a TV license for the first time in my life and Story ville was THE number one factor in why I decided to pay. If it gets cut, I give up on tele. |

| 3443 | B Tully | freelance | Storyville is the only feature doc strand on the BBC. Everywhere else, so-called documentaries have become formatted series, there is very littel space left for one-off feature docs. So many incredible films have been created through storyville's commissions. To rely solely on acquisitions is to turn your back on the creative talent, perspiration, blood sweat and tears of all the amazing documentary filmmakers that this country possesses. We should be saluting them and taking great pride in their work, not ignoring them and hoping that the french, germans or scandinavians will put up some money to back their ambitious ideas.
Come on BBC! Storyville is absolutely the best strand on UK tv. Without offering commissions in this strand, you may as well forget calling yourselves a public broadcaster.
