3302 Daljit AmiIndependent Documentary FilmmakerStoryville is important space for dissent. Protecting this space and exploring the possibilities of its expansion are important for better, humane and healthy society, worldwide. The struggle for Storyville is part of much bigger struggle.

3305 mirzadirectorwe need more money for producing good documentary program.
3306 Lesley Ann PattenDirector, ZIJI Film & Television Ltd.As the world grows smaller, we need each other more. And as a North American documentary filmmaker I am horrified to see the outstanding font of brave and brilliant documentaries diminish. The world is filled with trash; in every creative and business dominion we need intelligent, thought provoking input to stop this downward slide of the human race into apathy, greed, and stupidity.
3307 Judith HelfandPresident, Toxic Comedy Pictures & Co Founder, Chicken & Egg PicturesAs a filmmaker in the U.S. i have held Storyville up as the example of what original documentary programming is and can be. The films have benefited people all around the world, serving as an example of what commissioning independent [one-off] films looks like/means. The loss of this level of original production is a loss for the world, not just the UK. Decision makers and citizens around the world watch these films and need them... they look towards the BBC to be visionary and courageous...e the example! Be the exception. Stay the bold course of Storyville and if anything make it BOLDER.

3312 Annika GustafsonMan & Motion ProductionsDear BBC, you hold the moral standard for documentary filmmaking in the world. If you start to slack too, you will have killed the medium. We need you, we crave you, we want to continue loving your productions. Please don't be part of eroding our cultural heritage and the memories of being human.
3313 Jacki OchsExecutive DirectorWith the continued ravenous appetite for exceptional consideration of the bottom line and "consolidation" broadcasters worldwide are less and less interested in the voice of the individual and the independent. It is crucial that the BBC maintain its quality programming by continuing to support Storyville and single documentaries.

3332 Phil ShinglerProducer/DirectorGiven the profile of British made documentaries world wide it would be a travesty if such an important strand as Storyville was so strapped for funds that it could not originate any original programme production but had to rely on purchases.
