Save Star Trek: The Experience

Star Trek: The Experience (STTE), located inside the Las Vegas Hilton, has been the Mecca for Star Trek fans from around the world for over 10 years now. Cedar Fair, the current owners, has announced that they will be closing STTE on September 1, 2008 and vacating the Hilton by the end of the year. We need to band together as Star Trek fans from around the world and show our support for keeping STTE open in some fashion. We need to show that we are open to moving it to a less expensive location or scaling back the rides or taking other measures to improve the profitability of STTE. This is the only way to insure it\'s continuing success and very existence. Please sign this petition to show your support and also begin frequenting STTE as much as you can. If Cedar Fair sees the committment of the fans and the potential income potential, we might just be able to save our beloved STTE. Sign today!

5 years ago Comments: I grew up in Las Vegas. As a kid, I didn't have many places to go to except the Star Trek Experience. Anyone who decided to come into town accompanied us to this fantastic attraction - Everyone I knew fell in love with it (yes, even people who hated Star Trek). I saw with my own eyes the sheer mass of messages that were posted on the walls of STTE during its final days. It was a revenue that brought in people of all different ages from all over the world. There was a special quality to this place, a unique kind of fun that was enjoyed by all without feeling “too kiddy,” “too adult,” or, dare I say, “too geeky.” You would see such odd things as businessmen sitting next to families at Quarks, without either party feeling uncomfortable or annoyed. No place in Las Vegas was like STTE, and if it remains closed, I am sure there never will be. I implore you to reopen this revenue. Without it, the Strip will never be the same. Thank you for your time, Sam.
