Victoria Park’s ice cream Kiosk was opened in 1954 and has been running for 57 years. Kevin Simcock of Tony’s Ices, a four-star family business has been running the Kiosk with his wife Chris for the last 35 years. This business has now been put under threat as Stafford Borough Council started selling ice cream from the adjoining play park. The family approached the council when the new play park opened and offered to provide a facility but were told no plans would go ahead until next year when a contract would go out to tender. It was only by chance that they found out the council would be putting in its own stand at the play park as there had since been a delivery of freezers. Mr Simcock was then informed that the council was setting up its own outlet. It appears due to the success of the play park the council have become greedy and now want to cash in on the ice cream business themselves at the expense of Mr and Mrs Simcock. Please can you show your support to Kevin and Christine Simcock and sign the petition to keep Victoria Parks Ice cream kiosk going as a successful run family business.
