Name: Jessica Kaiser on Feb 23, 2007Comments: I ask that you refrain from building low income housing on the corner of 7th Street and the Heartland Expressway. Please do not jeopardize the property value and quality of living for those who already reside in that area.Flag

Name: Vicki Weber on Feb 23, 2007Comments: I am against the rezoning to Multi-Family High Density housing. This type of rezoning will not enhance the community in general but more importantly my neighborhood. Excess in crime activity, trash accumulations, affects on our school system, etc. will be increased and not an asset to Gering as a whole. Thank you.Flag

Name: Jan C. Weber on Mar 3, 2007Comments: High crime, trash, reducing property values, etc. are not the only concers. Streets, city services and other utilities will have to be modified for the high density community. Not a good idea for future city growth. Jan C. WeberFlag

Name: Kim Graslie on Mar 7, 2007Comments: I strongly oppose the rezoning of Part of the Northwest Quarter of Sections 12, Township 21 North, Range 55 West of the 6th P.M. , Scotts Bluff County, Nebraska and the area east of the Pathfinder Addition as I do not believe this will be beneficial to our community as a whole. We need to look into the ecomonical impact this will have on our community (school system). I have recently built a house in this area--yes, I am angry about this issue.Flag

Name: Connie Rohnke on Mar 12, 2007Comments: More property tax is good for the city of Gering, NE, but I beleive more business and industry would help. There are many low income housing in southeast Gering. These are primarily rental and the landlord pays the property taxes. We need to provide good neighbor hoods. The home owners need to provide clean and neat yards. I beleive that this needs to be discussed, because we all want the best for the city of Gering.Flag

Name: Michael Clement on Mar 19, 2007Comments: I do not think that we should zone this for multi family or trailers.I do not think that the people of Gering are looking to make our town into a trailer park, I think people in our town have pride in thierselves and that is who we are looking to attract. People who will take pride in our community, as well as thier personal property. We want to attract people who will invest in our town, not sell it off to outside investors to pad thier own pockets. We are not looking to develop places where poeple put in as little money and effort to get more money out. I have no problem with people making a living, but we want to instill pride back in people not just how to get by in a trashy trailer park, or a dump of an appartments. I am not willing to sell of my town and ruin my neighbors community just so that someone can make a quick dollar.Flag
