People should be able to be born wherever they like! its up to the parents. some hospitals might be more busier but its where they want their kids.. it gives a better review if they are able to deliver alot of babies !Flag

Name: Jennifer Rathbone on Jul 16, 2009Comments: I had both my children at Solihull, the most recent a 12lb 3oz boy born on 13th July 09. Without the fantastic staff in Solihull labour ward my experience would not have been a good one. The level of care I received was second to none and I will be eternally grateful for the way was looked after. A special mention to midwives Kathy Dolan and Sara, thank you so much xFlag

Name: Anonymous on Jul 17, 2009Comments: Reducing the level of maternity services in Solihull would increase stress for expectant mums who may have to travel further to unfamiliar locations to give birth. I found it immensely reassuring to have such excellent services on the doorstep and would be saddened to lose them.Flag

Name: John Owen on Jul 17, 2009Comments: I read the company letter from Sally Burton in the Observer letter section trying to justify this action, if solihull are short of funds perhaps they should think about stopping the water wagon going around with two men on board to water hanging baskets twice this week in Dorridge even though it has rained daily, it would be a far better option to get rid of this type of service than a Maternity ServiceFlag

Name: Anonymous on Jul 17, 2009Comments: I think Solihull hospital needs full time paediatric cover to enable all Solihull mothers to have their babies safely in Solihull. It can take up to 40 minutes to get to Heartlands which is far too long when someone is in labour.Flag

This servive has been provided for years, why do away with it now, young moms need a local maternity unit, please re think keep this openFlag

Give them better services, dont take a good thing away from expectant mums.Flag
