Name: Timothy Bolton on Jan 14, 2010Comments: Health care should not simply be a financial calculation. Health care is a right. Health care is not a case of being efficient, it is a case of being effective. When you reduce, remove or relocate facilities effectivity is lost. Keep Solihull hospital services where they belong, in Solihull Hospital.Flag

Name: Joy Davis on Jan 14, 2010Comments: I think it is digusting that the maternity services might be downgraded. I had my daughter at Solihull after an awful first birth with my son at Heartlands. Solihull was wonderful and helped to erase the memory of the bad time I had the first time around. I am devastated. It is WRONG that the residence of Solihull might have to travel to Heartlands or maybe even further a field - we deserve a hospital near us. Just think of all the lives that will be in jepody. Absolutely disgraceful.Flag

Name: Nicola Robbie on Jan 14, 2010Comments: We need Solihull hopital, closing it down makes no sense!! If you need to save money look at your middle mismanagement non essential dead wood and not vital services and beds. There are hundreds of cost effective ways hospitals can save money but they are too busy twisting themselves up in red tape over extortiate contracts with outside companies in order to silly jobs like changing lightbulbs etc. Hospitals need to stay local for communities, both the elderly and young families need ease of access to services not to have to travel miles on several different bus services or pay exhorbitant car parking fees in order to get treatment.Flag

Name: John Bramham on Jan 14, 2010Comments: This general erosion of services at Solihull Hospital has been going on for years now - in fact ever since Mr Goldman took over as CEO of the HCT. I said back in 2004, as Tory Spokesman on the Health OSB, that the basic game plan was to justify shutting Solihull down altogether by steadliy removing its capabilities to the point where it becomes dysfunctional - I'd say that this latest scam is probably one of the last shots in that endeavour. Solihull Hospital is one of the better ones and should remain that way, offering all of its services.Flag
