Even if you have a busy day it is nice to be able to play a quick nlne holes in the afternoon or weekend morning. I know that the county board is hell bent on selling the land to some developer who will fill it with townhouses that will provide the county with tax revenue.Flag

Name: Tom Enright on Aug 31, 2009Comments: This was the first golf course I played over 20 years ago and I still play it about 5 times a year. This is a great beginners course and it would be a huge loss if it were to close. This is the course I was going to take my kids to when they are old enough to start playing.Flag

Name: Keith A. Ferguson on Sep 3, 2009Comments: If the county, is trying to save money. They sould start closing the tennis courts in the area. I never see anyone on the courts. The money to resurface them and new nets, is probably more then any alleged loss the golf course makes. They bring in no money. Fields that are cut and lined for soccer, and football, bring in no money. Same for most baseball fields and basketball courts. No income. But the golf course must make a profit !!! The one thing that brings in any money.Flag

Name: Valerie Vashio on Sep 7, 2009Comments: The course has an important value for Montgomery County Golf and for the community. PLEASE KEEP IT OPEN. Last year, I sent an extensive detailed comment to the contact person listed in the Gazette and who participated at the meetings at Sligo Creek Golf Course. The comments included the many ways Sligo Creek Golf Course could be promoted to increase business. Many people do not know about it. It is one of the nicest courses I have played and the staff is outstanding.Flag
