Name: Terry Hansen on Mar 29, 2010Comments: I have played in and enjoyed many seasons of Touch Footy at Shaw Road as well as half a dozen finals when Comps from around Brisbane gathered to decide their seasons. The organisers have always been respectful of maintaining the grounds, which are a focal point for the activities of Brisbane Touch Players on the Northside. I like hundreds of others travel from the Southside to play at Shaw Road. It is no small thing for us to arrive at a well run, well maintained facility and be able to do what we like to do best.Flag

Name: Anna Willis on Mar 29, 2010Comments: I manage a team of 12 players who play 4 seasons of touch football per year. There are more players in our touch football comp then other mainstream sports comps I participate in including hockey and netball which receive more funding and have specific venues designed purely for their use. Touch football is played on a range of venues and fits in around other sports' timetables. As such it never seems to receive the funding or facilities it needs, so has adapted to be self-sufficient.Flag

Name: Aaron Mckenzie on Mar 29, 2010Comments: Our team has been playing Shaw Rd for 4 seasons now and without this venue our team is now struggling to find a venue that can accomodate a competition that can support the depth of the Shaw Rd venue. We are currently deciding on wether to enter the competition for the next season as the spilt venues are a hassle. Other Monday night venues can only play a couple of teams which means less matches, fewer grades and weaker compsFlag

Name: Michael Lloyd on Mar 29, 2010Comments: Shaw Rd is a great venue for touch football. The 4 teams I organise all enjoy this venue and woud like to continue playing at this venue. We have been playing there for 3 years and if we are unable to play there we will not be able to continue enjoying touch football 2 nights a week.Flag

Name: Tamara Cramp on Mar 29, 2010Comments: How do we expect people to stay fit and healthy when they dont let us play sports at Shaw Rd. Tpuch football attracts thousands of people as it is a mixed sport and we should be allowed to play at Shaw Rd just like other sporting organisations are!!!!!Flag

Name: Graham Leddy on Mar 29, 2010Comments: Surely the more people that use the grounds means the more money there is available to look after the grounds. If Premier Touch are going to continue with 3 seasons a year then maybe one of those seasons needs to be at an alternative venue or venues to give the grounds time to recoup during that period. Another noticable problem from the last season we played was the leaking pipe on the field outside of the clubhouse. Surely this is an easy fix. Having this wet patch not only caused damage to the grounds, it was also a hazard to players.Flag
