Comments: As a sexuality educator, I know the value of sexuality courses. Students learn to make informed decisions and have stronger relationships. Respect for self and others, responsibility for ones actions and statements, as well as recognition of the rights of others are goals taught and accomplished in sexuality courses.

Comments: As a Yale University and University of Chicago trained anthropologist, a published author and instructor at 3 universities, and a compassionate member of all communities in our world, I urge you to protect and expand current academic and other research programs which explore all issues of all sexualities in the interest of science, the responsible and joyous full living of life, and in the name of human rights for all. For fear and ignorance to be codified by disallowing important research on this significant element of human embodiment is to create far more problems than the censors claim would create--this has already been proven. The repression of research in the name of an exclusionary morality is unethical in my cosmology. Sincerely, Christine Sophia Pettett, A.B., M.Phil., Reiki Master Teacher

Comments: As a Gender and Sexuality studies graduate of NYU, it is unfortunate that Sexuality is not recognized as significant and important field of study in other academic institutions. Sexuality studies are fundamental to the sensitization and awareness of issues facing disenfranchised and marginalized people. More importantly sexuality affects every single individual as well as their health. Sexual literacy can empower people to make healthy decisions for themselves which is an important factor for the advancement of society. Taking away sexuality programs disregard the importance of diversity and academic opportunities.

Comments: As a woman, wife and mother (and as a sexuality educator and coach), I believe it is hugely important that we come to a better and broader understanding of sexuality -- in all its aspects.

Comments: WIthout good research on sexuality there cannot be good sex-related policy. This affects civil rights, community health, and individual happiness. Sexuality education is as important as good research and smart policy in terms of protecting human rights, improving the health of communities and expanding the potential for individual happiness.
