| 11 | Anonymous | It's quite simple, this show has been trying to get Scott back in the role of Craig since they decided to put him back on the canvas in 2000. It was only because Scott was such a successful, talented, busy actor that he had to turn them down. But when he accepted, he did them a favor. The actor of Craig under the guidance of Chris Goutman had been tarnished. And as capable as other actors were, the charm and charisma needed to make Craig lovable despite his actions, was missing. The story? A sloppy story about a crazed man, a stupid woman, and a man too smart and in control to have ever given either a second thought. It was beneath the depth and layers Scott was used to when Marland wrote for the character. And yet, he still managed to infuse his trademark wit, delivery, charm, and sweetness into a story that had him drugging, shooting, lying, and nearly baby killing. Not to mention the writers barely tapped into the potential of his character by integrating him with his family, including little sister Katie. Or only have one and a half scenes where he interacted with former love interest and partner in crime Carly. The ideas for what to do with Craig are limitless, and they have in their posession the only actor who can handle whatever they throw at him as he has proven in mere months. To fire him at all, let alone treat him so shabbily by not doing it to his face like adults, is insane. This show has made this mistake before, in the 90s with Scott DeFreitas and it took a letter campaign to enlighten the top brass as to what a mistake they were making. Goutman is a former actor who knows the importance of fans, listen to your fans now. This, is a huge mistake, for the canvas, for the ratings, and for the fans. Fix it! |

| 22 | Cathy | I’m done with ATWT. I’ve been a fan for a long time. I’ve seen the show through lots of “ups” and “downs”. I’ve attended St. Jude in NY (coming from CA) a few times to see cast members. I have loved ATWT. In recent years, I’ve suffered through a lot of writing decisions and character changes that have blown me away. I thought when you all did the storyline of Julia “raping” Jack – I was done. But no – I stick to my soap opera. However, the news that you’ve fired Scott Bryce…..the only actor who could actually make anyone care about Craig Montgomery again has finished me off. I have had other complaints the last few years including the destruction of Carly as a character; all the sadness and anger with little regard to caring, friendships and family; the lack of real romances; the Gwen twin debacle, etc. However, I really believed with the return of Scott Bryce that the show was going to climb out of whatever it has been mired in. Fine actors are being wasted and with the knowledge of this firing, I’m done. |
