BCBC are planning to turn sandy bay into a car-park for 5 years, but after that, it would just be a derelict wasteland. The carpark would involve bulldozing the entire place over, killing hundreds of animals, including the endangered skylark and sand-lizard and then putting loads of gravel on top of it, it would be an eyesore and would be a tremendous loss of recreational land for cyclists, dog walkers and people who just enjoy a nice walk. Our plan is to gather a large petition and when the bulldozers come, to have hopefully a very large non-violent protest.
