Name: Marianne McKeon on Sep 18, 2009Comments: Sag Harbor is the only community left on the East End that has preserved both its community and the stores and shops owned by local residents and has remained architecturally preserved more than any other village on the East end. It is an historicaly significant village and its beauty and character and the fact that it remains a community of the people it worth every effort to maintain. Any time I tell people I live in Sag they express so much fondness and appreciation for everything from the 5 & 10 to Our Gig Too to the Bay Street theater and the wonderful views of the harbor andsunsets right from Main Street I also stronly believe we should preserve the area athe foot of the NH bridge for a park allowing access to waterfront to the residents - ideally as a park with educational theme on whalingFlag

Name: Chris Brancato on Sep 18, 2009Comments: The one thing that differentiates Sag Harbor from East Hampton and Southampton is the refusal of the Mayor and Village Board to allow ugly residential developments, chain stores and dime-a-dozen retail chains from blighting our village. I am in full support of every effort to keep Sag Harbor the most beautiful of all the South Fork towns.Flag
