EVENTS
1. I heard from the Placer Herald and the editorial will be in this week's paper so hopefully after Wednesday our exposure will increase and ignite additional support.
2. The Herald said they are interested in writing more stories on the budget and has said they will contact us for additional information on this issue. I have spoken to another supporter who is interested in getting this information to a friend of hers who is a reporter for the BEE also. Anyone who is interested in helping with the media please let me know.
3. There are two community forums on the budget. Monday, March 1st at Springview Middle School Multi-purpose room and Monday, March 15th -Granite Oaks Middle School Gym, both at 6:30pm. The times, locations and directions are also on the blog and the district website. It is very important that we have a strong presence at both these events. Parents, Residents of Rocklin, teachers, nurses, experts, anyone who is interested in coming and standing up for the nurses is encouraged to contact me so we can coordinate.
4. If you are a parent of a child with a medical issue or know a parent of a child with a medical issue in Rocklin district PLEASE contact me. I am really counting on your support in the form of letters of support, attending the community forums and meeting with the board members. You are the people with the most power to help the district understand why a credentialed school nurse is a vital part of keeping your child safe at school!!!
5. We are organizing door to door petition drives and stations at some public venues for this and next weekend. A permit is pending for Bel Air and I have contacted other locations who are allowing us to gather signatures and continue to educate the public to our concerns. If you are available to help with this PLEASE contact me and I will tell you where, when and get you a copy of the paper petition. At last count we were only at 250 signatures so this needs some attention. I was hoping we could have 1000 signatures by the second community forum to present to the board member in attendance.
