Name: Mitchell (TWIG) Baker on Feb 8, 2010Your Age:Comments: This is rubbish! I don't think that the government realises how important Rocka is to the tens of thousands of students involved. I know a guy who's off to join the army but one of the reasons he's stayin is cause of Rock Estedford. Also I think its really unfair to all of us who try so hard to raise the necessary funds needed to compete and pay for the materials needed. And what about the community i mean one of the awards is for community involvement. It brings us closetr together and not to mention all the new friends and people you meet on the days of competition. Come on guys, you'll make alot of people miserable by doing this so do the right thing and DON"T KILL ROCKA!Flag

Name: Bree Wilkinson. on Feb 8, 2010Your Age:Comments: If you take away Rocka, you are not just taking away a few spectacular productions and masses of teens in sparkly costumes, you are taking away a community. Parents, teachers, students and friends as well as performers will all experience a great loss. How can we lose something which is so precious and so beneficial to so many people? Rocka teaches people valueable life skills. To be part of a team, to show support, encouragement and good sportsmanship. It gives valueable life skills, promotes a drug free message, and creates lifelong memories. There is no greater feeling in the world than being up on stage, as a large team, for one combined effort. Bring back Rocka.Flag

Name: Claire Harcla on Feb 8, 2010Your Age:Comments: This is truly shocking news.. We feel truly gutted! Rocka has made the ultimate difference to so many of our kids... some truant all classes except for our Rocka rehearsals... It builds such a wonderful community feel and builds such strong school spirit... Not to mention the hours and hours of hard work which go into making a Rocka performance possible. WHY? why? Why?Flag

Name: Duane Inocencio on Feb 8, 2010Your Age:Comments: I am sad to see the decision by the Gouvernment to stop funding such a great event for the youth of the future. As a team member (Stage Manager) of the professional crew delivering the experience to the students you see the hardwork , dedication, creative art and team work that students put in. I sit side of stage and notice the reactions to students after they have performed and see the excitement and acomplishment to something they have been in. Regards DuaneFlag

Name: SHARYN REED on Feb 8, 2010Your Age:Comments: Rock Eisteddfod is the reason why so many kid's continue with school. To take away this wonderful avenue for friendship's, discipline, creativity, comradeship, dancing, performance skill's which allow the kid's to work in a positive constructive way is absolutely disgusting. The health benefit's are enormous and to see those benefit"s be basically flushed away is a total shame! Hopefully with publicity and lot's of awareness within the general community, somewhere, somehow, someway Rock Eisteddfod can be back in business with some wonderful sponsor's on board who can see the positive's there is for the all kid's, their families and their school communities.Flag

Name: Geoff Latham on Feb 8, 2010Your Age:Comments: Rock Eisteddfod changed my life,i was fortunate to become part of the family that is rocka & done all the back stage props building, repairs, setting up.fund raising & anything that needed doing. To see thousands of kids in one place with no fights & a combined spirit to win by the best performance, the back stage crews looking out for each others props so you know you won with every other school giving it their best.To see this not go ahead is a discrace to any kind of humanity,it never mattered who you were, what you looked like,if you were fat or skinny, black, whit, red, yellow, blue it was all about love for rock eisteddfod & giving the best performance you can. This is one thing in life where it is true love & to see it die off without a fight, noway ill fight as hard as i can Rock Eisteddfod Rocks!!!!!!Flag

Name: Tara Byrne on Feb 8, 2010Your Age:Comments: As a teacher, I understand the positive influence extra-curricular activities such as Rock Eisteddfod can have on the students. As a friend and fellow teacher pointed out, for some kids, it is an outlet and the only reason they want to be at school. To take this opportunity away from young people is simply awful and detrimental to their spirit.Flag
