This is a problematic if not false claim, since the particular biodiversity of the proposed developed area will be replaced by 'landscaping', which even if it does manage to replace a number of the species - both of flora and fauna - that will be necessarily be dislodged during construction, can in no way replace a 'mature' biodiversity, an area of landscape that has developed particular micro-ecosystems and ecological relationships over time. Gardens (read 'landscaping') cannot be considered as justification for the removal of complex, mature ecosystems present in the area. |
