As a radio listener, I wish to inform the Federal Communications Commission, and the U.S. Congress that the indecency campaign being waged against radio stations has gone too far. Free speech is being compromised in the name of “indecency.” If I hear something on the radio, I can choose not to listen, change stations, or contact the station myself.
My desire is to allow stations to provide programming, and let the free market decide whether their content is appropriate. I would like the F.C.C. to recognize that the “community standard” is different geographically, and that listeners of different age groups have differing tastes and sensibilities.
I want Congress to enact no law or regulation that would allow the F.C.C. to interfere with my First Amendment rights. |
