Name: Nina Cuthbert on Mar 31, 2009Comments: As acting editor of The Hill magazines, a publication that has been distributing in this area for the last 25 years, I am astounded that the government has permitted this to happen. Is London to become one big shopping centre or will there be some originality left in the form of individual shops and servicesFlag

Name: Councillor Pat Mason on Mar 31, 2009Comments: I am opposed to the government removing the transisional business rates relief scheme that will especially hit small businesses in Golborne Road, W10, in my Ward at this time. And I will say so loud and clear to Chancellor Alistair Darling when I lobby him to have this reversed or have a substitute concession introduced.Flag

Name: Paula Roberts on Mar 31, 2009Comments: I think increases in rent at this rate is a ludicrous idea. We want our local shops not rows of empty shops or worse shops that you see in every high street . Local shops run by local people for local people please.Flag

Name: Christina Medici on Mar 31, 2009Comments: I work on the local Grove magazine and work closely with many of the portobello/golborne rd business who i know for a fact are struggling from the congestion charge and existing high rates. Pls be considerate that 75% of the businesses in this area will be forced to close down as a result of your increased rates. These areas are worlld famous and immense tourist attractions, therefore shuttin gdown this area will not onl;y be massively detrimental to the businesses in notting hill and relative property prices, but international tourism will also be affected.Flag
