Name: Anonymous on Aug 25, 2006Comments: The discovery of Pluto led to many questions about the planet. One of the most puzzling was the fact that Lowell had predicted that Planet X would have a mass 6.6 times that of Earth. The tiny dot that was actually discovered could not possibly be that big, unless it was extraordinarily dark. Estimates of its diameter, for example, ranged from 6,000 to 14,000 kilometers. After the discovery of Charon in 1978, which permitted determination of the mass through a few simple calculations, the mass of the Pluto system was determined to be about 500 times smaller than that of the Earth. This was a huge long-term mistake and I am glad that it is now corrected.Flag

Flag

Name: Bella Liberty on Feb 14, 2007Comments: Pluto Petition On August 24th 2006 the International Astronomical Union general assembly in Prague declared that Pluto is no longer a planet. But it would not be wrong to say that IAU made the decision on Pluto was not on the reasonable definitions, IAU just made its decision on size of celestial body. Actually the planet Pluto is a smallest, furthermost and mysterious planet in our solar system. Fist step we have to consider that: 1. Pluto is not an asteroid. 2. Pluto is not a gas ball. 3. Pluto is not a satellite 4. It is not a floating or drifted body. Second step we should consider that: 1. Pluto is a solid round object . 2. Pluto has its own orbit as same as other 8 planets. 3. Pluto has regular Sidereal period ( 248.5 years ) 4. Pluto has Sidereal period of Axial rotation ( 6.39 days.) 5. Pluto has its own satellite ( Moon ) within its Radius. 6. Pluto has largest orbit and its orbit is so eccentric, some years it is closer to sun than than Neptune. 7. Its sidereal period of axial rotation is much faster than Mercury and Venus. 8. Its has fully Ephemeris data. Also we have to consider on these good questions: 1. Pluto is smaller than our earths satellite (moon) but why it has an independent orbit or our moon is bigger than Pluto but why the moon is orbiting within our planet Earth and it has no independent orbit 2. Our Moon is bigger than Pluto why it has no sidereal period of Axial rotation. 3. Our moon is bigger than Pluto but why it couldnt be escaped form Earth influence and Pluto is smaller than our Moon but why it can escape from Neptunes influence and getting independent orbit. 4. Pluto has a smallest body how does the solar influence affects on it So the IAU has to consider above definitions and IAU must have reasonable definition for making decision on a planet or not According to above definition Pluto is a mysterious planet in our solar system and also it is a terminate point or it is our terminate planet in our solar system. *** According to astrological point of view Pluto is most powerful planet and September 11 event 911 happened to America and today world on fire is because of Plutos influence and its combinations. Therefore Pluto is mysterious planet in our solar system. Bella Liberty ( Astro- Philosopher )Flag
