Name: April Stubbs on Sep 5, 2006Comments: I have owned a pitt bull in the past and I currently own an american bull and have never had a problem out of either of them as far as aggression. They have always been sweet and gentle. It's all in how they are raised. If you're gonna make a stupid law about them, make it that one has to have a Beware of Dog sign or a certain type of fence. These dogs are not just animals to us, they're family.Flag

Name: Leslie Goins on Sep 5, 2006Comments: Pitbulls and other canine's like them can be vicious if provoked! The owners or the maker of vicious animals no matter what the breed is! Dogs are pets! If you choose to bring an animal into your family then you should treat them as the are a part of your family. The animals don't chose their owners. So why make them the victim of humans irresponsible actions Thanks! LeslieFlag

Name: Ashley Thornton on Sep 6, 2006Comments: What I am understanding is because the pitbull terriers "can" be vicious killers then we need to put ALL of them guilty of this or not , where exactly Kill them all So the people "can" be vicious killers and can be mean for no reason and hurt people and children as well. Does that mean we are going to punish EVERY human being for some bad apples Are we going to ban them from Mississippi or just kill them all Sounds a little silly doesn't it So why take away all the pitbulls when some are innocent. So if you tell people who own pittbull terriers they can't have them and these people have them as family pets, you expect them to just give them up Have them put to sleep Just give away to whom If they are so illegal and evil and viscious killers , who is going to take them Who legally in the state can take them You honestly think people who love their pets of any kind , can put their pet down when they weren't guilty of anything. What if your child's school or town decided that because one child murdered or assaulted another child that they should ban children from their town What do you do then What about all the innocent children who didn't do anything Don't give me this crap about how their is a difference because one is a dog and one is a human being. WE both live and breathe, we are both able to love and protect our families. Who is really at fault is the people and not being responsible for their pets. It's bullshit. Starting to sound like a case of descrimination against a breed of animals in Mississippi. But what is new there We are already known for that, right So why shuld we change our ways now. We as human beings have the brain power and knowledge to know right from wrong. Animals live on survival insticts and how they were raised by HUMAN BEINGS. It's wrong what is happening here. Who I really feel sorry for are the animals. They can't even defend themselves. They can't voice their opinions. Once again we are being caught in the mold and trap of how our "society" thinks we should do. Be an individaul, be yourself, do what you think is right, raise your children and your pets responsibly and be safe.Flag

Name: Daniel Laughter on Sep 21, 2006Comments: i dont think you should pick out one specific breed of dog, a little rat terrier could bite someone just like a pit bull can. its all in how u raise the dog. as long as you dont fight them or keep them chained up then the dogs will not be mean i know from past expierence.Flag

Name: Wade Morris on Aug 13, 2007Comments: I think to ban a certain type of dogs is stupid . Any dog can be dangerous if not raised right. It just seems tht they always want to slip other breeds into a ban law that have know business being there. If I have owned numerous rottweilers in my life and have had no problems but the neighbor hood poodle is causing problems who is to say my dogs are more dangerous that the poodle just because they have the 'potential' to cause serious damage.Flag
