AnonymousMy 23 year old thoroughbred horse, who is in the early stages of Cushings was prescribed Pergolide by my veterinary surgeon in April 2007. What a difference!! This winter, her coat has grown no more than any other horse on the yard and she no longer sweats up excessively. Last year, she looked like a shaggy pony. Pergolide has saved her life and my vet is 100% satisfied with her current condition. Long may it remain available to any horseowner who needs it.
paul greathouseI support this action as I have a twenty year old horse that I have raised from a foal and I cannot put in words how much he means to me.
Catherine L. TibbitsWe have several horse's at our barn that have been helped from taking Pergolide as a last resort, and the results have been fennomenal. All are still being monitored by our Veternian including my grandaughters little Welsh/ Arab mare who we hope will also do as well as the other horse's we have seen this product help. The FDA really needs to use a little common sense and stop making things so difficult when it comes to the health and comfort of our horse's and publish an exception to the prohibition on compounding from bulk drugs with Specific reference to horses with Cushing's Diease.
Julie Crumpplease do not take perglide off the market.I have a 23yr old pony who would not be here if it wasnt for this drug. What are horse owners going to do if this drug is removed???FDA needs to make equestrians an exception.
Connie MooreMy 8 & 10 year old daughters have a 10 year old pony diagnosed with Cusing's syndrome 5 years ago. We have tried modifying his diet and his environment to manage this disease without success. We recently started the pony on pergolide as our last option. Please do not remove this product from the market as it relates to treatment of Cusing's syndrome in equines. For many of us, it is our last hope with the exception of euthanasia for these animals.

Cheryl A. GammellPlease keep this drug available to the horses who so desperately need it. I have a 20 year old pony who I have had since her birth and she has been on this drug for over a year. She will not be able to walk, stand or live without it. Without Pergolide it is a death sentence for her. Please help and keep this available to her.
Kelle KellyI have a horse with Cushing she was real bad close to being put down I tried the chaste tree berry to no avail, then I thought she deserved trying all I could before I put her down, I ordered pergolide and in 2 days she was a diffrent horse, this drug is a must for the life of our loving companions , I urge everyone to contact and sign any petition to keep this drug on the market for Equine use.

AnonymousMy 26 yr old just started treatment with Pergolide. My vet has told me it will help him so please allow us to buy this for our horse.
Pat TorrancePlease keep this drug on the market. My horse did not get the opportunity to be put on it but, my old pony is on it and it has improved his condition immensely.
Jane FreyI had my 25-year old mare on the equine form of Pergolide for 2 years with hardly any results. At the suggestion of my vet, I switched her to the human form of Pergolide and within 6 months, she improved dramatically! We NEED to have this available for our horses. I am truly worried about what will happen when I run out.
Kasey RoarkPlease keep this drug available for equine use!! This is the ONLY medication that saved my 17 year old mare from complications of cushings disease. If she is not able to take it we would probably end up having to put her down.

Pauline GreavesLike thousands of other horse and pony owners , my pony was facing death , laminits had crippled her for months , she was miserable , no interest in life , no condition , but she wasn`t ready to give up . My vet tried pergolide , and we watched and waited . She came right after only a few weeks of treatment and my 21 year old rescue pony was , and is , back to her old cheeky , unstoppable self . I no longer have to have her clippedout every month , she drinks less , she`s comfortable , she`s happy and healthy . I don`t believe such an invaluable drug can be withdrawn from the market when it clearly has such a profound effect on both equine lives , and their human carers !

Anonymousmy 11yr. old daughters 19yr old pony was just diagnosed with cushings.Thank God they have pergolide! My daughter and her horse will remain happy!
CarlaPlease do NOT take Pergolide off the market. I am a new horse owner and one of the horses I purchased, just last year has developed cushings and I understand that Pergolide is the only thing that may help him. As a matter of fact, the prescription is on the way from the vet as I write. Help me help him.
AnonymousPlease keep pergolide available for Cushings horses!!

Holly BolesMy 22 year old gelding has been on Pergolide since Sept 28 and has improved DRAMATICALLY.
Donna ChatoMy horse, Trixie, would have to be euthanized if not for the hope and promise of pergolide. Please continue to make it available for beloved pets like ours. Oct. 29, 2008

Rhonda MichelI need pergolide for my 23 old Arab gelding. Without it he will continue to suffer.

Brigitte HerrnboeckMy 20 year old Arabian mare needs this medication to relieve her cushings desease. Please do not take it off the market.
Susan LintonMy warmblood was finally diagnosed after growing curly, kinky arctic hair for the past 3 years. He is on Pergolide which will stop his pituitary gland from constantly producing whatever it is that it produces. The Pergolide will also help to regulate his under active thyroid which I have also been unable to do for the past 3 years, even though he is on Thyroid medication. This drug is very important to the health of my horse and all the others diagnosed with Cushings. We all need to be able to acquire this drug.
Elizabeth SonnenbergMy horse has cushings. He is my greatest friend. I rescued him from a lonely life. Now with recent onset of Cushings. Only this medication can give him some hope of a happy life.
Minde BuschMy horse was just diagnosed with Cushings Disease and has started Pergolide. Please expedite the approval of this drug for equine patients at least until the research community finds an equally effective alternative. It is the only thing at the moment that will save him and thousands of others.
mary lacey gibsonI support keeping this drug for veterinary use.

Jill EvartFDA: Please write an exception to the use of pergolide in equine treatment. It is essential for the well-being of horses with this affliction. Jill Evart
Beverly T RobisonI am a manager of a animal sanctuary we have 58 horses of which 10 have cushing as well as dogs with cushing the cost is out of this world we have ours compunded
AnonymousI have a 27 year old horse which has been on pergolide for 9 months and it has really transformed his life - he is still enjoying being ridden several times a week
Idyle NestlerPlease make pergolide easily available for horses.
amanda von argyriadisThis drug helps many many horses and ponies live out their lives in relative peace and comfort who might otherwise be euthanised with no ther way to control Equine Cushings. It is insensitive and inhumane to disallow this drug for equine use with responsible veterinary supervision.
Olivia Tackett
AnonymousPergolide should be made available for veterinary uses just as in the U.S., phenypropanalomine is available for canine usage but not human.
