Claudia VetterMy horse was diagnosed with Cushings and I was told I may never be able to ride her again. She has been on the pergolide now for six months. She is doing great and I am back to riding her.

Dusty KarnesMy pony Buddy began foundering repeatedly at age 5. Over the years he showed more and more symtoms associated with cushing's disease. He was placed on several different medications with little relief. I kept him on a dirt lot and he would still go lame. It was not until he was finally prescribed pergolide that he started to improve. He runs and bucks like a young horse should, which I never thought would be possible again. He even escaped through an improperly latched gate and grazed on a full lush pasture for about ten hours while I was at work, and didn't founder. Prior to the pergolide, he would have foundered after ten minutes of pasture! Buddy's quality of life has improved so drastically that instead of hearing "You need to put that pony down," I now hear "Wow, your pony looks great!" Please allow pergolide to be compounded for use in equines!!
Susan DixonMany horses need this product to have a comfortable life - please consider continueing to produce it as 'horse use only'

Janet B. SpencerPlease do not sacrifice the health and life of wonderful horses who need pergolide due to their Cushings Disease. I have personally known two great geldings who have benefited from pergolide treatment.
Tes OlsonMy horse is diagnosed with Cushings and Pergolide had helped him regain quality of life. Please keep Pergolide available for vets and horse owners!
Kathey KraemerPlease think of the lives of these beautiful pets. Their quality of life should be considered and pergolide gives this quality to horses with cushings. I have a horse that has had cushings for five years and is still a great riding horse, thanks to pergolide.
Ellie AltmanMy 23 year old Arab/Quarter horse has been on Pergolide for 4 years. In Nov.2006, I entrusted a barn worker to give it to her. The result, as she did not get it, was severe laminitis. Thank goodness she came out of it, and with CONSTANT medication,is sound and ridable. She is doing great! She cannot be taken off Pergolide and maintain her life. Olease do not take this drug off the market for my mare!!

Jeannie SeetchPlease publish an exception to the prohibition on compounding this medication for horses. My 30+ year old horse Mariah would not be alive today without this drug. Please help her and all of the other horses that this drug helps. Thank you.

Gail FazioMy 30 year old horse has been on another medication for Cushings for several years, but has been experiencing further problems lately and my veterinarian is pursuing switching to pergolide to control his condition. If this option is removed, I may well be having to say goodbye to my life-long friend, and that is NOT something I am willing to do when there are effective medications available, and rules for human use, not veterinary, keep us from using them. Please help!
Mary HinsonPlease allpw equine usage of Pergolide. It will save lives and greatly improve the quality of life of horses with Cushing's Disease.

Barbara ThurstonThis is an expensive but life-saving drug for the geriatric horse. My pony lived an extra 9 years because of that drug. Nine good years. He has passed on now, but I can imagine the panic and despair that horse owners are feeling at the thought of running out of pergolide. Excrutiating pain and death will be the result. These animals are loved. They have worked hard in their lives, and they deserve the best that modern medicine has to offer. Please find a way to keep this drug available for them.
Walt janitzMy sister's pony, George, lived an extra 9 years because of that drug. He has passed on now, but I can imagine the panic and despair that horse owners are feeling at the thought of running out of this medication. Excrutiating pain and death will be the result. These animals are loved. They have worked hard in their lives, and they deserve the best that modern medicine has to offer. The remaining supply is dwindling, and time is running out.

Kathleen SeligThere is a beautiful 25 year old Welsh stallion at my boarding barn who is on Pergolide because of Cushings Disease. He is the proud sire of many champion performance ponies and lovely pleasure animals. His spirit and presence passes to all his offspring. It would be devastating to lose that spirit because his medication was no longer available. Please help keep Cadence alive. He is now retired from stud but he is an important member of our "family", still active in all aspects. We love him and want him with us for many more years.

Jennifer SiegelPlease, PLEASE allow pergolide to continue being used for veterinary purposes - my 22 year old pony has been on it for years and is doing so well. If he has to go off of it, he'll likely end up having to be put down, which would break the heart of everyone who knows him. Please, this drug has allowed thousands of Cushings horses and ponies the chance at a normal life. Do not take that away from them.

Rae MillerI have had two horses with Cushings Disease, so I know how important this drug is in their treatment. There is no cure for Cushings Disease, but the health, comfort and usefulness of affected horses can be helped with this drug. It is considered the premier treatment for a very difficult ailment.

William VogelOur horses need this medication. It IS life and death.
Barbara Edith KetzelYou have no idea the suffering you will cause beloved horses and owners if this drug becomes unavailable. For many horses, it will be a sentence to euthenasia.
Camille BrownMy two ponies with Cushings Disease would not have survived for as long as they did (ages 25 and 36 ) without the drug Pergolide Mesylate. It made a hugh difference in their lives. They had not only quantity of years but quality of those years until they died. It is imperative that it remain on the market for horses suffering with Cushing Disease.

Sharon KasparChunk is 28 years old and since she's been on pergolide her quality of life is wonderful. I hope that we will enjoy many more years with her feeling and looking well, as I suspect this will be my last horse friend in my care as we age together. We beg you to make the drug available - it already costs $50/month and as long as we can afford that, she will have it . She has been with us for 23 of those 28 years and I cannot bear to see her health decline when there is something that can be done for her. Please let me see her last years knowing I did as much as humanly possible to make them happy.

Christine MontesMy horse is not on Pergolide yet. But it is likely he will need it in the future. Please keep this drug available for all the horses that need it now!! It isn't fair when we have the power to keep these horses well for us to just turn our backs and watch them suffer!!
