Patti Schmid | My horse is 31 years old - he was diagnosed with Cushings Disease four years ago. Since that time he has been on Pergolide and doing well ... the vet always comments on how good he looks when he comes out for his spring and fall exam, shots etc. Please don't take his Pergolide away.
Elizabeth Shafer | My horse responded well after he began treatment with pergolide for his Cushings. He is 19 years old and continued to compete at the FEI level in Dressage this year. without this medication he is at serious risk for laminitis.

Mike Page | Pergolide still available in Europe, but have other dopamine agonist drugs (there are many in human pharmacology / pharmaceutics and most are unlikely to be withdrawn where used for treating Parkinsons disease) been tried?
Christine Cook | Horse owner currently treating with Pergolide
Joyce Kelley | 25 years old - used to body clip 2-3 times per summer. Put her on pergolide in March and she is still shedding out by the bucket full! (now june) Her legs don't look like she is part draft horse with all the extra hair. Going to ride it out and see if it will help save me from the dreaded body clipping. Seems like it is really helping.
Brian Cook | Our horse needs this medicine to comtinue to be made.

Belinda Skiles | I work for a veterinarian. We have several horses on Pergolide for Cushings in the practice. I also have 2 good friends with horses on this medication with good results and would like to see its continued availability.
Anonymous | My 35 yr. old mare is doing just fine with this MIRACLE medication. Please don't take this one hope from the horse owners
Jayme Harris | It does not seem rational or humane to condone the deaths of thousands of horses, including my own, by denying them pergolide. A simple modification to exempt the drug from veterinary medicine is all that is needed.

Audrey Elliott | My horse has used Pergolide now for over two years for her problem. Without it she will end up with laminitis and have to die and I don't want this to have to happen. She is doing so well now, don't let her and horses like her suffer when they do not have to. Let them have Pergolide please.
Lauren Behnke | I have had a pony with Cushing. The pergolide was like a mircle cure. She was constantly laminitic until given pergolide. She was able to run again.
Anonymous | I work personally with many horses suffering from Equine Cushings Disease, who are managed with Pergolide on a daily basis. With the medication, these horses are happy, healthy, and can lead useful lives. Without the medication, all these horses would have to be euthanized in order to prevent them from living in pain. Please publish an exception to the prohibition surrounding pergolide mesylate so that these horses can continue to teach children how to ride and be responsible.
Shannon Dorley | My horse needs this!!
Marco Guarnaschelli | This wonderful drug has given my older horse a new lease on life!! Critical for many of us.
Asta Crowe | I have an elderly horse with Cushings disease and am dependent on Pergolide to keep her alive and functioning. She is now 32 years old and doing well. Withdrawing pergolide at this point in her life could be her death sentence. PLEASE do NOT make this drug unavailable to the equine world, it is important that those horses that need it continue to have access. Thank you.
Cathy Baskin | my 23yo horse has been on pergolide since 1/07-he has improved greatly-i urge you to allow this drug to continue being manufactored for veterinary use-thank you for your attention and hopefully for your support

as all living things are. play with chess pieces
not lives. |
Carole Mignone | At one time I had an older horse with Equine Cushing's Disease. Pergolide improved the quality of his life for many years. WIthout it, he would have been euthanized many years earlier. Pleaxse consider an exemption to the prohibition of compounding pergolide from bulk drug where it concerns horses.
