Anonymous | I know several people who have aged horses with Cushings. One of our horses has been showing symptoms. Please change the wording to allow for equine use. Thank you.
Wendy Marcks | Cushing's Disease is a serious equine issue and deserves a reasonable accommodation of the FDA to address the equine medical issue seperately from the human one.

Barbara Rau | My horse Ginger has been on Pergolide for 5 years now and is Cushings symptom free. Prior to treatment with pergolide she suffered with frequent painful hoof abcesses, foundered and had lamanitis all of which were very painful. She is 19 now and very healthy. Pergolide can help keep her that way.

Vivian Tatem | None should suffer. This exception may only be needed for a short time until another solution is found. Please consider this. Thank you.
Bob Rau | Our horse has been on this RX for years and would die with out it!
Laura | Without this drug, my horse could develop other diseases.
heather stoll | To make this drug unavailable to horses is cruel and unthinkable! I've seen too many horses suffer without it. Our equine friends need us to give them food, shelter, and health care.

Joan Ricker | Please be more educated on what you do before you do it. We all know the difficulties that would occur to reverse the decision you are about to enact upon. Animal medicine does not always have the backing and resources that human research has. We are for always struggling for finances and support to further the medical treatment and provide healthy life styles for animals. Yet animal care often leads to discoveries for our own lives, and human research often encourages treatment for similar conditions in animal medicine. In this country the majority have association with animals and emotional bonds, within their houshold their animals generate economic support and spending for multiple products and services. However as we make rules and laws and decisions in a single focus concerning humans the side effect on animals is forgotten . This should not be a single focus decision.!
| 5022 | Eloise D Prevost | My sisters horse needs this drug or he will fail very quickly. She wriote and said " It's terrifying to think that I might not be able to get it any longer - he's been on it for about 4 years now."
PLEASE KEEP THIS DRUG IN PLACE FOR HORSES. |

Rebecca Jacobs | I have a 28 year old 3 time World Paint Horse Champion that has Cushings. He is very loved and appreciated for all that he has given to his owners over his life. He is now living a well cared for life of retirement and deserves for us humans to see that his medication is made available for him. This is our time to give back to him. Please keep Pergolide available for him and all of the other horses who need it.
Anne Tancredi | I had my horse with Cushings on pergolide. It enabled me to have him for 30 years. As the caretaker of two more aged equines, I do not look forward to not having this drug available should I need it for them.
Rebecca McClintock | My best friend Julie has a horse and is on this drug and I would hate to see her go through this with her horse of having to put it down. Please keep the drug.
Anonymous | extremely necessary in equine veterinary practice

Alana White | My horse requires pergoloid for his cushings disease and taking it off the market would put not only him, but so many other horses in danger of losing their lives. I know that my horse means the world to me and this is the same with alot of other people, so please keep pergoloid on the equine market by signing this petition!

Danni Doran-Fogg | I have a 24 yr aged TWH Mare that was given a "death sentence" due to a bacterial infection. The clinic vet said she would only survive 2 months at most. She was close to the point of euthanasia 5 weeks after this diagnosis. Cornell University and my primary vet prescribed Pergolide to help her fight the infection, as she was symptomatic of Cushing's also. My Mare has been on Pergolide for 2 months - she has regained her coat, weight, she looks absolutely great! She is social, relatively pain free, acts like her old self, and SHE IS FIGHTING THE BACTERIAL INTEFECTION (aspergillus) that was killing her. She has a good quality of life at this point. I fully understand that at some point I will have to make the decision to euthanize her, but this drug was her only chance at life and IT IS WORKING. She has been a family member for over 15 years, and I owe it to her to give her a chance. Please don't remove this drug from the market for horses. We need it badly!
Gerry Azzata | Thank you for your help.
Paula Dennis | What subsitute can you offer these horses who are benifiting from the use of pergolide mesylate? You must keep this product on the market until there is sufficient research to offer an alternative. So many of our equine friends are depending on us to take care of them.

Marlita S. Hall | I have owned 2 Cushings horses in the last 10 years. This is a heart breaking disease. There is a drug, Pergolide, that GREATLY benefits these horses. As far as I am concerned, the withdrawal of this drug for use with these horses is criminal. The persons responsible for pulling this drug should be held accountable. They have very effectively tied the hands of our vets. This drug should be put back in their hands ASAP, by whatever means is necessary.
Pat Deglman |
Robin Flanagan | My horse has Cushings Syndrome and needs the drug pergolide to survive. Please allow the production of this drug for equine use.
