Name: Chris Stickley on Apr 6, 2007Comments: I have two equines currently on Pergolide for PPID or Cushing's. They would not be healthy and still living at this time with out this prescription to control the tumor output/symptoms. This drug is a must for many thousands of equines with PPDI for both Canada and America. Manafacturing this drug for animal use would be one solution, rather than the complete discontinuation. The recall due to the side effects in humans, when other drugs are now available is noted , but not for equines, other comparable drug choice is not the case for equines with PPID. Many lives depend on this drug!.Flag

Name: Nancy Diehl on Apr 6, 2007Comments: As an equine veterinarian, I can attest to the efficacy of pergolide in the treatment of Equine Cushings Disease. If this medicine were no longer available it would have a profound effect on a large number of horses. The horses on this medication are usually older and much-loved by their owners, as long-term daily dosing ends up being quite a financial investment. Nancy Diehl, MS, VMDFlag

Name: Timatha Pierce on Apr 6, 2007Comments: Peroglide gave my friend's horse another year, a good year. With a pre-Cushings 21 year old Morgan gelding who is the light of my life, I was so heartened to know that he could be taken through Cushings with proper feed (which he's on) and with Peroglide. This is devastating news. PLEASE don't stop the manufacture of this critically important drug to humans and equines alike.Flag
