Name: Michael Evans on Aug 22, 2011Comments: with our economy these days, it seems crazy to spend this much money on islands, why not work to improve marshall and woodford county hunting areas, they are sediment ponds and their filling up, or here is a crazy idea! why doesn't the government just save the money and pay the teachers for our childrenFlag

Name: Patrick Gudat on Aug 22, 2011Comments: I have grown up boating on the Illinois River and continue to raise my children doing the same. The continued building of these islands will make the River a shipping channel only with limited boating potential the big water provides. We need to focus more on land preservation and alternate ways to reduce the increased sedimentationFlag

Name: Farrell Lord on Aug 23, 2011Comments: I am a rural landowner that makes major contributions to the silt problem in Peoria Lake---due to storm water runoff/stream bank erosion on my small farm caused by development in the GermantownHills area.. The Corp plan is a stupid, huge waste of money. Why do they not focus on STOPPING the silt from coming in to the lake? We have done all we can at our expense and it continues to worsen. Please feel free to use examples of this problem is you wish.Flag
