1972 AnonymousPalaca je ruzna i nema nikakve svrhe. Treba je hitno srusit. Diocletians palace is ugly as hell, it has no purpose and it should be bombed or at least razed down to the ground as soon as possible.

1992 Loretta (Pozega)ThompsonI humbly request for the city government of Split to preserve and protect all historic buildings that represents a part of our heritage. We need to preserve these places for our future and our children's future! Please don't destroy that which is irreplaceable. Urban sprawl in the United States has gone rampant and has destroyed much of the beauty of the wilderness. The United States does not have historical sites dating back to the 4th century A.D. but the native people of America did. Unfortunately the native people were annihilated to almost extinction along with the Bison and thousands of old growth forests which are now gone forever. Destruction all in the name of greed. Does the Croatian government of Split really want the beauty of its city turned into an ugly duplication of American urbanization? I think that most Croatians want to preserve the palace and other historical sites that are such a big part of Croatia's heritage and should be protected for future generations. I believe the Croatian people don't need more commercialism but better planning for their cities, towns and villages along with the preservation included for all the historical sites. Please don't fall prey to the evils of America and commercialism. My husband had once given great advice to a Slovenian friend who asked what his country should do about their land as in regards to commercialism. My husband told him to never sell their land to foreigners! The only way to do business and protect their country was to only lease the land and to make sure that they (Slovenians) had complete control over who, what, where and how the land was to be used. This was the only way to protect the land and its people. We need to remember that we are the caretakers of our land and we need to protect it for future generations. What kind of legacy do we want to leave for our children if not a great one and the only one that would best serve all Croatia and its people? I love my country of Croatia and want to keep it preserved for all to enjoy its beauty and grandeur. I know many people throughout the world would want to visit Croatia for its historical sites and its beauty. Please consider this before taking drastic measures to alter the land of Croatia. Thanks for letting me say my peace. Sincerely, Loretta Pozega Thompson
