Irene Giannelli | It is absolutely outrageous to consider a theme park at Werribee Open Range Zoo. This is not an atmosphere that these animals should be subjected to, their surroundings should remain as close to a natural habitat as possible.

maureen simpkin | I feel It's absolutely disgraceful to even consider putting a theme park inside any zoo especially one as beautiful as Werribee and the animals should come first and the enviroment considering australia is trying to be more enviromently freindly it is just really sad and unbelieveable.

Catherine Doherty | This decision has too many significant impacts for the Victorian State Government to make a rushed decision. There should be more consultation with the community.
Anonymous | Zoos of Victoria should be fully consulted before any decision is made. The quality of life for the animals of Werribee must come first. I welcome a theme park development for Victoria - but absolutely not at the expense of animal welfare and education. Werribee should remain open to the people of Victoria without the interference of a private company. I hope that some agreement can be made that is acceptable to all parties concerned.

Joe Blo | think of the poor animals who are not having their say. it is not our right to disturbe the animals in their ranges. why are we making the desision. clearly, the animls would not want a theme park surrounding their home.

| 3774 | Theresa Thomson | The Victorian Government has no right to give the
Werribee Zoo to a Company that is only out to make money, the Village Roadshow is not interested, nor has it the ability to breed animals to save them from extinction. It is not interested in making children happy, the Village Roadshow is only interest in making money. So what does the Victorian Government hope to gain? I smell corruption! Why would you take a Zoo and give it to the Village Roadshow? The Zoos belong to the people. Who has asked me if my taxes should pay for a $100 million to be given to the Village Roadshow, my answer is NO, NO NO. I would like to know who thought up this ludicrous idea, let us have their name on the front of all newspapers, if they dare. The whole idea is corrupt.

Maureen Smith | This is an important feature to uphold as a reflection of these great animals in a somewhat natural setting. To turn it into a fun park will attract people who will not value the integrity of this spectacle and most probably therefore shift away from the need to remain a zoo.

Jan Harrison | Werribee Zoo plays an important role in educating students and the general public about animal and land conservation and sustainability. In this day and age we should be supporting and encouraging that contribution. Put the theme park somewhere !else!
Neil Harrison | Zoos and theme parks do not mix
Lisette Jansen | We absolutely agree that it would be a terrible thing if Village Roadshow would take over. Werribee Zoo is a very unique zoo in its set up and lay-out and should definitely be kept if not extended!

M. Brown | Children learn more from Zoos than from theme parks.
Anonymous | Werribee Open Range Zoo should remain an educational and conservation establishment, not become an entertainment venue.

Roger Bell | I am so disappointed to learn that with no consultation or mandate from from the public the ALP is proposing gifting public land and a public subsidy to an organisation whose orientation will primarily be towards profit rather than economic community access, education, species maintainance and all the other positive benefits of the present regime. It will also siphon money fromworthwhile State attractions. If this goes ahead I am sure the marginal seat in which I live will have even more reason to be under threat. I state this as one who has donated to; attended fund raisers and handed out "how to vote cards" for the ALP. I urge you take note of the considerable objections.

Andrew Potter | Werribee Zoo does a fantastic job of educating both students and the general public about animal, land and enviromental conservation and sustainability. Don't change there core business
Jacqueline Matisse | I am concerned about the lack of public consultation on this matter and I am also concerned about the negative effects the noise and activity of a theme park will have on the breeding progams.
