You log onto many of the social networks and all you see are the RIP status’ and pictures of lost loved ones. It hurts to the core to see that our youth are being targeted by death. Our city truly has a death spirit covering it. We can sit back and complain all we want, but it won’t change anything. We push our children to make good decisions, to go to school and get involved in extra-curricular activities, but through making these good choices, who protects them? Many of our young men and women are afraid to walk the streets, leave their homes, attend school and even to be alone. It’s a shame that parents, families, friends, educators all live in this fear of what voice will be on the other end of their next phone call. We the citizens of the city of Chicago petition that Rest In Peace is Re-incarnated to Peace,  that more is done about the violence in Chicago. We need our politicians to step up. We need our leaders to do more to protect us and to save our youth. We need more active police on our streets and in our neighborhoods.
