Name: Sharon Griffin on Aug 11, 2008Comments: These are the men and women that risked there life so people like you could have freedom and a job. You now want to take away what little you so called do gooders let them have. How much more money do you people need at the expense of these brave veterans. Open your hearts and put yourself in their shoes, would you exchange your life for theirs I think not. For the first time in your political life, make the honorable choice. Please don't disappoint our veterans again.Flag

Name: James Murphy on Aug 12, 2008Comments: How many more Vietnam veterans have to die before we realize that programs like the 'Veterans' Village' are essential. The WWII veterans needed more programs like this but they died the same as needy Korean War vets are now. It is a myth that PTSD didn't cause major long-term issues with these veterans... the VA didn't track them either. It simply wasn't discussed. My students have done many interviews with WWII vets and almost every veteran knew of someone who either committed suicide or died from high-risk lifestyle choices. Every vet knew someone that was not a casualty of WWII but was never heard from again by family or friends. Our local Veterans Village is long overdue.Flag

Name: Baz on Aug 12, 2008Comments: When are the leaders going to start treating the nations finest with some respect. I'm so tired of hearing these BS stories, Bush and Co were keen enough to start the war least they can do is deal with its consequences. But no, there's no prophet to be made there, so who cares.. I'd like to see the US and UK governments do a tour. Having said that why inflict such a thing on the military...Flag

Name: Mignette Humphrey on Aug 14, 2008Comments: My comments and opinion: Yes, I believe every veteran need to get involved quickly. Every military person, whether retired, active duty or reservist, along with their family members have an obligation to see that benefits will increase not decrease. Too often we fail to act at crucial points in our lives, thinking that if a particular cause is not affecting us at that moment it is someone else's problem. Well I am here to testify that the issues at hand will be the very issues that come to take a big bite out of us in the future if we do not dig up the initial roots. In this case to hold our government accountable to the promises made to us as warriors for our country. Sincerely, Mignette Humphrey, USCG(Ret)Flag

Name: Joanna Fabbri on Aug 14, 2008Comments: My father was a veteran and utilized the Montrose facility. My family and I would like to see the Montrose VA back in service. They provided an important service to our men and women. It's a beautiful campus and should be utilized for our current and new veterans. They deserve the best.Flag

Name: James W. Howard on Aug 14, 2008Comments: I feel all Veterans and concerned citizen should support this petition and brought to the VA's attention. I just hope it is not too late! I feel and maybe I'm wrong that major real estate and big business are just standing by waiting for the Va to give them the go-aheadFlag
