The Tiger, India's National Animal, is in Grave Danger. There are only 1,411 left in India and this magnificent animal may die out sooner than we can imagine.
That is if we let our ignorance and greed continue to dominate us.
We are petitioning against this injustice imposed on the tigers, and against the lack of action for the same.
Those who must be held accountable for the death of 1000s of tigers have been allowed to get away, but we will not hear excuses any longer.

Our aim is to move people, leaders and the govt into pressing for policies and taking up policies that will protect our tigers, as they have not been taken seriously in the past.

In 1956. by the 42nd amendment, Protecting and Improving environment and safeguarding forest and wildlife was added to Article 48 In the Directive Principles of State Policy of our Indian Constitution. However, the Directive Principles hold no legal sanctity and cannot be enforced by law.

With this petition, we implore the the Environment Minister, the Forest Ministers, Chief Ministers and The Government to take the necessary steps that will make this principle a law enforced by the state.
The same principles prevent the slaughter of cows, why not prevent the slaughter of tigers?
We want to see the government implement such laws and immediately!

The tiger is but one animal under threat and in a few years time we will be facing the loss of many more unless we ACT NOW.
