Save Our Schools West

Glasgow City Council plan to close 6 Primary and 3 Nursery schools in the West End of Glasgow. Dowanhill Primary, Hillhead Primary, Kelvinhaugh Primary, Willowbank Primary, Dowanhill Nursery and Willows Nursery will merge into one Super-Sized school of 758 children on a gap site on Gibson Street. Notre Dame Primary, St Peter\'s Primary and Anderson Street Nursery will merge into one school of 491 children on the site of the existing St Peter\'s or Dowanhill. The plans will:

    Comments: disgusted that these schools and their historical buildings will be closed down and left to ruin or worse, be demolished to make way for unsightly houses!!!!

    Comments: A ludicrous proposal, with no benefit to pupils, parents, residents and motorists travelling up Gibson St. A council sledgehammer using land that they most likely can't sell because it acts as a flood plane. Oh, and the student residency to be built behind Tchia Ovna Flagrant disregard for community and more of the same.
