So often in the past Palace has shown itself to be out of touch with its supporters and yet again this proves to be the case as the revered sash kit is planned to be dropped for next season. For once, the club had picked a design that was universally welcomed and cited as one of the most fashionable strips around - not just by Palace fans but by football supporters all over the world. Ok, that's a little bit of an exaggeration, but lots of people thought it was cool, ok It had brought together Palace fans of all generations from those who remembered its original conception in the 1970s to the younger mob who recalled its rebirth as the away strip in 2001. And now, all that will end as the club intends to switch back to the red and blue stripes, with some horrible Hacket-style away shirts. Well, enough is enough Palace. It is bad enough that the strips are changed every season (despite Simon Jordan's promise in 2000 that this would not be the case), but now the first kit in a while that everyone seems to like will be whipped away from the diligent, pocket-emptying Palace fans. FYP won't stand for it so we are launching the Save Our Sash campaign - lobbying the club to keep the sash for next season, either as the home kit or the change strip. Please sign this petition to show how much the sash means to you. Don't let the club decide for you - take a stand. Save Our Sash!
