Comments: My dogs are bred correctly and trained, and loved. Loving and Nurturing is all these dogs, or any dog for that matter, needs. Having my dogs in my life is important to me and to my family. It is wrong to assume that Pitbulls are dangerous. It is unfactual and completely false. I believe that any breed of dog can become dangerous. It all depends on the territory and atmosphere. I feel violated as a dog owner and lover, because of the recent legislatures regarding Pitbulls and how dangerous they are.

Comments: The most horrifying example of the lack of breed predictibility is the October 2000 death of a 6-week-old baby, which was killed by her family's Pomeranian dog. The average weight of a Pomeranian is about 4 pounds, and they are not thought of as a dangerous breed. Note, however, that they were bred to be watchdogs! The baby's uncle left the infant and the dog on a bed while the uncle prepared her bottle in the kitchen. Upon his return, the dog was mauling the baby, who died shortly afterwards. ("Baby Girl Killed by Family Dog," Los Angeles Times, Monday, October 9, 2000, Home Edition, Metro Section, Page B-5.) It could happen with ANY dog. 77% (approximately) of all dogs pass the temperment test, while a whopping 95% of pitbulls pass. As a breed the pitbull does better on the temperment test than retrievers, labs, dalmations, and almost any other "family friendly" breed there is.

Comments: I think poodles of all dogs should be banned, its not pitbulls fault if they are being hit and abused.its in all dogs instincts to react in a situation where they are hit. Thank you for who ever started this petition to stop this pointless ban..p.s why not all of society with all the hatred in our world.

Comments: I breed pitbulls have been for a couple years and I've never had any trouble or aggression out of any of them.. Email me for a nice pup...Anyways I hate that such a nice dog has such a bad reputation because of ignorant people training the dogs to fight.. Blame the owners that buy these 200 game dogs, don't blame the breed in general it's not their fault...thanks

Comments: I also happen to be a proud owner of three pitbulls. 1 is an American Rednose, 2 is a Staffordshire Terrier Wallace Colby cross, and my last one is the son of the first two. People banning pits in the U.S. are obviously ignorant to the breed. If they were not they wouldn't be able to ban such a loyal caring loving breed. It just goes to show even people in congrewss can even be ignorant. Good luck and keep me posted on further activities. Thanks David Lynch

Comments: I have a beautiful pitbull. He means the world to me and there are many other owners out there who feel the same way. I would be lost if something were to happen to american pitbull terrier. IT IS THE WAY THEY ARE BROUGHT UP AND TRAINED. IT IS NOT FAIR TO US RESPONSIBLE OWNERS.

Comments: Breed Specific Legislation (BSL) is not an effective solution to the problem it's supposed to be solving. Personally, I believe it causes more trouble than anything. I have a fabulous pit/Akita mix dog, who was rescued from a drug house in the middle of December when he was seven weeks old. He's a very intelligent dog, picks up any trick I try to teach him, and he sleeps in my bed every night. He has never shown any aggression towards a human, although he is wary of some men. He loves my younger brother, and my older lab mix. Every one who has ever met him has fallen for his Pittie Charm. I can't imagine losing such a wonderful breed of dog, simply because moralless humans have brutalized them so severely. Let's show the world that the Pits deserve a chance; they're not all abused to the point that they become aggressive for the sake of self preservation. They're great dogs, and people need to see that.

Comments: I have owned a lot a diffrent types of dogs but the pitbull is my favorite.I have owned my dog for 5 and 1/2 years and she has been the BEST dog i have ever had. I have two small children 9 and 5 she is very gentle with them and ANY other child that comes in my home. I couldn't ask for a better friend. There are not bad breeds just bad people and any dog can bite you that is a fact. When my husband was a child he was attacked by one of the most loyal dogs around a GERMAN SHEPARD ripped his his ear off and a few months later attacked his sister and scared her face for life. Who's a bad dog now None of them just bad people .

Comments: I would just like to say for the record, i own a pitbull and he is so loveable. people talk about pitbull fighting but they dont make themselves that way their owners did, and it the owner who should pay for it. and think of this, in the south many people fight chickens, so are they going to ban chickens next because they are being faught

Comments: My dog is obsessed with cats. He doesn't get aggressive with them in any way, he's simply curious. There were two kittens that were less than 6 weeks old that found their way into Moose's yard and he got a little too curious. One of the kittens actually beat up my 2 1/2 year old Amstaff PIT BULL. Seeing as they had claws, they scratched him so severely that he needed medical attention. IF my dog had any intention of injuring those kittens they wouldn't have had the chance of getting one claw into his nose. He's a fast one- just drop a treat on the floor and tell him it's ok to eat it and see how fast he'll pounce on it. I've never even heard my dog growl, so how can he be vicious I beg you to show me, then maybe I'll think about BSL.
