Help Stop the Pit Bull Breed Ban In The United States Of America WHEREAS Aggressive dogs are found among any breed or crossbreed; and Breed specific legislation and breed bans are not effective solutions to the problem of dog attacks; and The problem of dog attacks is best dealt with through a comprehensive program of education, training and legislation encouraging responsible ownership of all breeds; WE the undersigned petition the Parties whom wish to ban Pitbulls to refrain from enacting nationwide animal control legislation that is breed-specific, and instead implement a comprehensive bite prevention strategy that encourages responsible ownership of ALL breeds. My name is Katie and I have grown up around Pitbull\'s my entire life. My boyfriend and I breed Staffordshire Terriers. I have 2 gorgeous, obedient, playful, loving, pits in my home. They are a part of my family. They sleep in my bed, they vacation with me. They love running outside and playing with my 8 year old daughter. They are protective of my daughter and take care of her. As bizarre as that might sound, it is the truth. My female Pit \"Ruby\" truly believes she is Hannah\'s (my daughter) mother. She has been with Hannah since infancy.

  • sandy shamash Pitbulls were once known as the nanny dog. They are kind dogs. These dogs were not and are not fighting dogs. The people who make them fighting dogs should be held accountable for their actions. As with many breeds of dogs, Pits are the ones that are now getting a bad rap. It was the dobermans, german shepards, rotties, and soon it will be another breed. The diference with this breed is that people are making them fight. I have pits and they think they are lap dogs, Where I live most people have pits and there has not been an incident with any of them. On the other hand a cocker spaniel has bitten a few people . why not put that breed on the ban list as well.
