The beautiful, historical paintings in Tenterden Town Hall may be put up for sale to provide funds for Tenterden Town Council to use on projects such as a new heating system.

These paintings are part of our heritage.  It was the intention that these paintings be on display for the people of Tenterden to enjoy. It should surely be a community decision if they are to be sold and not left to a decision made by the council.

If these paintings are sold, it is the start of a very slippery slope.  What will be next when further problems arise and there is no money in the kitty? Isn't there other ways of raising money rather than selling our heritage?  Community fundraising etc? 

Too many questions - these should be answered before a decision is made by members of the Council which affects our whole community.
