The powers that be have handed down a decision to close McGill's Blackader-Lauterman Library of Art and Architecture (effective Fall 2006).
The students and the public that utilize and value this historic library have been given no advance notification or voice in the matter.
If we do not speak up, this priceless collection and irreplaceable study space will be
dismantled and scattered.
For nearly 9 decades this library has been a cornerstone in our academic pursuits. We cannot let it be destroyed.
This petition has been created by a concerned student in McGill’s School of Architecture. Once populated, the list of supporters will be presented to the Administration of Blackader-Lauterman (who are also fighting for their library, but were not involved in the conception of this petition.) It will also be presented to the ‘Governing Body’ that is responsible for this decision of closure.
If you have ever cared about, used - or even think you could one day use this outstanding collection and the space that houses it – please please please TAKE A MOMENT TO SIGN THIS PETITION.
We must exercise our voices. We must SAVE OUR LIBRARY.
Your support is greatly appreciated. |
