Comments: It is absolutely ridiculous to build a homeless shelter where children from three schools will be walking. It is simply not safe.

Comments: My grandma lives down the road from this place. They didn't inform anyone. Just tried to sneak it in. And they didn't care that 2 elementary schools, 1 junior high and 1 high school are nearby.

Comments: I object to West Valley City's proposla for this development. The property values are already low enough due to the city's lack of control regarding code enforcement. This will make our neighborhood even worse - not to mention that it's right in the middle of a walking route for school children. The city MUST open this issue for public discussion. I do NOT want this development in my neighborhood.

Comments: This affects my property's value and I do not want this complex in my neighborhood. The zoning in West Valley City is terrible and this only contributes more problems to our neighborhood. If there is a problem with the homeless center, West Valley City does not properly enforce crimes and code enforcements. The city does not care about its residents who are trying to maintain anbd care for their property. They just encourage problems - like this!!!

Comments: I do support the projects for finding housing for the homeless, and the mission of the Housing Authority, but I am very opposed to having children have to walk by this location on their way to and from school. This is NOT the right location for this project, I would fully support a project in this location that recognizes the need for special consideration of school children in this area.

Comments: I object to allowing imbeciles like all of you to be allowed to sign a petition. I don't want our homeless friends to be surrounded by such incompitent neighbors or the kids that these neighbors are raising. This neighborhood seems like the black hole of reasonableness. Our homeless seniors would be better off on the streets.

Comments: I agree full heartedly with the following statement: We are opposed to the current plan to build a chronically homeless facility on 3100 South and 3600 West in West Valley. We support finding housing for the homeless and the mission of the Housing Authority, but this is the wrong location. Hundreds of children walk past the site everyday because of the proximity to schools. Placing substance abusers, the mentally ill, and the chronically homeless on a major school route is a disservice to both the children and the patrons of this center. When the plan was originally presented to the planning commission in December of 2006, it was pitched as a "senior residential housing development". No mention was ever made of building a center for the chronically homeless, substance abusers, or mentally ill.
