mrs julie hodgsonThe hospital is very important and must be kept at all costs
Peter WelchThis is a vital local community service which saves lives and is a fundamental part of our community.

Malcolm NethertonI feel very strongly about the proposed closures. The alternatives proposed for the Westwood Community Ward are unacceptable due to the distance factor for visiting relatives and particularly to use Goole which is not on any direct route from Beverley.

maureen clarkgiven our ageing population, local hospitals are a necessity. as one ages, the faculties and mobility decrease and not all have own transport. those with own transport are faced with increasing costs, distances therefore become important.

Mr A J WilsonOur priority is to maintain beds and services at Driffield, being over 30 miles away from acute services.
Dr Mary SowerbyThese hospitals provide a hugely valuable resource for our rural community and also jobs that mean that local people do not have to commute for long distances on our already over-busy roads. The local public transport system is not adequate to move all patients and staff into the nearest cities. Patients highly value the skilled and personal service that they receive in these local hospitals and once these services are lost, we will never get them back again as they would be too expensive to reinstate. Take a long term view!
Mrs Mary WilsonHand off the Alfred Bean. 30 miles drive from Driffield to Hull is absolutely scandalous for accident/emergency cover and community beds.
Diana Randle1.Where exactly are the patients who use the current beds be sent? 2.Will physiotherapy treatment still e available to the Westwood? 3.Will the money raised from the sale of the Westwood site go back into local health facilities?
S M LyonsPopulation of Beverley increasing so needing more local beds NOT fewer. Facilities need to be near the people - not everyone has a car. Stop selling off bits of Westwood Hospital site and improve exsisting facilities.
AnonymousCarry out the promise of providing the care the people need close to their home

Mark HoddinottThe loss of the Westwood Hospital in Beverley would cause anxiety and hardship for a great many local citizens. It is time our hospitals went back to being community services instead of cost and profit centres.
Dorothy Basher (Mrs)We want our War Memorial Hospital retaining filled with NHS beds and staffed by NHS staff plus all the services we are used to and entitled to free at the point of delivery. We want A&E dept. back.
AnonymousLocal hospitals provide an essential service. I'm getting pretty fed up with having to travel great distances for treatment for sports injuries. Surely most of these could be dealt with in local hospitals as they used to be.
Marian CoxWith our population growing and the roads becoming more congested, it is ludicrous, and often a matter of life or death, to close local hospitals, I know of no one who agrees to their closure

Ted and Susan YatesWe are O.A.Ps and appalled at the idea of losing beds in our local hospitals.
adrainwe NEED our local hospitals - not commuting daily miles and miles to see loved ones in a far away city.
Christopher Thomas CareyWe must keep our local hospitals open, this is a part of our structure of life in this country.

P A RansonBeverley is still growing, with more houses being built every year. We need what is left of our hospital to stay in Beverley, not to have to travel for miles with illness & incapacity. Thankyou. Pat Ranson

Mr and Mrs Paradaclosure of these hospitals will require unnesessary travel by the staff appointed at what cost? Are we supposed to be environmentally friendly or is this only when it suites the cause ? Think of the patient and how they are going to manage the vast travel that may be incured. Another example of a problem with no joined up thinking.
Daina Lindsaypeople depend on these hospitals how can someone just take them away its not fair.
Hilary and Colin BrocklehurstThe proposed cuts are dangerous, especially for the young, elderly and those without transport. It is hard enough travelling to Hull hospitals as a patient or visitor. The proposed ideas would make the journeys impossible for so many. We, in these rural areas, have enough difficulties and lack so many amenities as it is .Many taken ill will not survive their journeys if our local hospitals are closed.

Mrs R HodgeWe need to preserve the hospital beds and community health services in Beverley, Driffield, Hornsea, Withernsea and Bridlington because they serve the immediate needs of those communities and reduce the need for relatives to travel long distances to visit their loved ones! My daughter was recently refered to Beverley Westwood hospital and the service she received was first rate!
Barbara EnglishThe consultation process is deeply flawed, and does not allow us to reject the closed list of options
