Comments: We are the only users of these waters that remove and leave with more trash than we bring in, saving an unknown amount of public funds by preventing injuries from sharp objects, and lead shot and bullets.

Comments: This draconian rule should be reversed. Metal detector people help clean our lakes of dangerous materials, protecting swimmers in many areas of the state.

Comments: When visiting the Wis. State parks I find metal detecting (in the sandy beach areas) to be the activity I most enjoy. How can the DNR archaeologist ban this activity for EVERYONE just because he caught one person illegally searching for artifacts I have never found an artifact on the beach in 30 years of detecting. If this new rule is in effect I will not visit the state parks, will not camp in the state parks, and certaintly will not support them thru purchases of park stickers and other fees.

Comments: as a metal detectorist i do not believe the state has the right to call all water in wisconsin a archeology sight. this is pubic land and as long as it is not being destroyed i should be aloud to hunt these waters

Comments: Please look at all the good that the folks with metal detectors do. We return so many lost items to the owners, and remove so much trash from the waters. There are so many more important issues that need dealt with, than to go after a hobby and recreation that so many people enjoy. Mike Walker President - SW MI Seek & Search Club

Comments: If this new rule is not reversed I will no longer visit the state parks, will not camp in the state parks, and certainly will not support them through purchases of park stickers and other fees. At present, 38 other states in America allow metal detecting in designated areas at designated times and dates within their State Parks. Wisconsin needs to remain one of them!
